Thanks! The splitter is made by Ryan G. The one on the car is actually cracked but I've got a new one waiting to go on.

Smart driving and a mild exhaust. Of course it's not "legal".

I'm not exactly sure who the smog nazis are but it's a risk you take with a high performance car in California. Most cops don't really expect an old BMW to have a turbo setup on it. Plus, I only drive it once or twice a week.

unless something has changed since i lived in CA you have to smog the car every two years, correct? im sure the tail pipe test would be clean but what about the visual? are they not opening your hood when they are smogging the car?

                ^ this
I'm in the process of turbocharging an old volvo, and its sorta tricky even though they sold turbo 240s up until 84 in the states (mine's a 92)

You think the tail pipe would test clean? LOL.

People with high performance cars in CA get "special smogs" if you catch my drift.

Thanks for all the hard work today my friend, it looks amazing.

I'll wait for the Bimmerfest weekend pics to come in and post after that.

Do you have a build thread for the turbo build?

I do not have one. Originally I built the car back in 2005 or so but ended up selling it in late 2006. I found it for sale at the end of 2010 and bought it back! It needed an engine rebuild so my buddy Myster-e did that for me along with a very nice cylinder head. The turbo setup is mostly the same with a few improvements here and there.
