    My 320i

Hey everybody...I've been meaning to throw some pictures of my new car up but have been very busy with work. I picked her up last week in Mulhack...I was a bit skeptical of buying it as the dealer was 3 hours away from where I live; driving an old car I don't know that far on the autobahn wasn't too appealing. She made it back just fine though and hasn't skipped a beat once since I've had her. She's a pretty clean '87, almost no rust underneath.Anyway, here are some pics

Changing the coolant, spark plugs, and oil today at work...Going to try and get as much basic maintenance done as I can before I start doing anything else. I ordered the 35mm drop H&R springs today, I can't stand how low and bouncy the car is in front right now. Hopefully I will be getting the M20B25 out of the junk yard soon and get that ready t drop in. I'm going to try and get an M50 engine too, we have a ton of them in the junkyard on base for around $300 for everything. Only problem is I can't do the swap and bring it back to the US; it has to be original, or at least original looking....

            Thats a hush house.

Spiecher huh? How is old Nospes at the reifen shop? Miss living there some times

That is not true about bringing it back. It does not have to be stock. It will need to be 25 years old for it to be allowed in without any issues.

Are those color matched bumpers? If so some spent extra on this 320i as most would have been chromies. I noticed that when I was there most 320i's in the yard had fancy upgrades due to savings on the displacement tax. But that being said a m20b20 is less efficient than a m20b25.

Oh and leave me some parts as I travel thru there still.

Thanks everybody! It is a Zender front valance. I found a Zender rear valance on ebay.de that hopefully I will win and put on soon. Get stuff painted here is just so expensive. I wish that was my garage, it's actually a T-9 unit. Lucky we have a nice boss otherwise I'd have nowhere to work on the car.
M-tchnik-3, maybe you can shed some light on my car. I can't tell if it is a pre-or post facelift. Either way someone did pend some cash on it. Everything I have on it says it was built in 7-87, but like you said it has color matched bumpers. It did come with the Shadowline trim from BMW. Anyway, do you still live in Germany?

As far as bringing it back goes I talked with the DOT and no, as long as it is 25 years or older they don't care much if anything has been changed on it. I don't know if I just got some duddley-do-right at the EPA but according to them the engine has to be assembly line original.I have read that if the car 21 years or older that it doesn't have to meet emissions standards anyway, so I can't seem to get a straight answer.I'd really like to figure it out before I spend $200 on a junkyard M20B25 when I could spend a bit more and get either the M50 or M30....There's a 750i there with a V12 that I want to buy just to have...maybe for a future E34 project
