damn would be cool to have a car with some race history.. you should've srsly had it look like back in the day, you'd be able to honestly say "because racecar" ;)

Cool project! Love what you've done with the power plant set-up! :D

Please get rid of the shitty eBay headlights! Also, IMO the wheels don't suit the car, it would look better with a rear bumper, and paint the trim on the e36 bumper to match your door trim.

while i think the original euro bumpers looked much better, i don't really mind the e36 front.

Im sorry but i feel that you have ruined this car. If it was really an ex Tony Viana car I am extremely saddened because there goes a piece of BMW motorsports South Africa heritage. Personally i dont like anything you have done with this car, I would have restored this car to its original racing spec and campaigned it in the historic series. Being a big fan of Tony Viana and South African touring car I am deeply saddened but it is your car and all that matters is what you think about it

On another note, if that is in fact the ex Viana car then why was the cage removed?

Thank you very much for your Honesty but with all respect and as you rightfully said, this is my car and it is about what I think!!

I unfortunately only found out much later that this was a Tony Viana car, in fact months later and after I have started the Project!! I still have all the original parts however and will "try" to restore it to its original condition one day?? I even have the original wheels!!! I however would like to race it first!!

The reason why I bought this car was that I wanted to do a project on a fast street racer and this car was the ideal candidate as it was "already turbo charged" A person called Phillip Hendriks who was one of Tony's apprentices bought the car from Tony just before he died.He turbo charged the car with a kit he bought from Germany!!

When I bought the car it was a rust bucket and in a very poor state! I want to stress the fact that my intentions was to build a street legal car that was extremely fast!! I had no Idea that this was an ex Tony Viana car?? I am however extremely proud of the outcome as this is my very first project!! I am in the chemical industry and have never worked on a car before!! Everything you see here, I have done myself!!

As for the roll cage, when I bought the car it came without it! Since I will be making in the region of 400KW and 800nm on the wheels, I will have to install a roll cage!!

                Thanks a lot!!

Looks great! I think that you need more tire to fill the fender gap.

                      Amazing,,, just stunning

how much power do you expect..

I know that ALPINA got problems with the E12 body shell.. as 300 hp is max for the strenght that the body can take,,,

                      Both E12 and E24 (early E24) B7 cars are a LOT weaker vs E28,,

You are right in saying that the body can not handle the power and the following pictures says it all. You can clearly see the cracks in the chassis.

I have however strengthened the rear end and will make a brace for the front end in order to handle the power!
