    Haha, I don't even know what that is. The pics were taken at a quarry in Ephrata, PA. I think it's run by Martin Limestone.

      Ah, that makes sense. limestone quarry

      That thing is a big rotating tube brick oven with a giant flamethrower in it to process the stone. In the simplest terms, Ground up limestone enters one side, gets cooked at 2100 ish degrees and pure lime comes out the other side.
      Thats the super simplified explanation. But that piece of equipment is pretty cool. I work at a paper mill and we have one of those on site thats about 10 times the size of that one. Ours processes 'lime mud' thats a biproduct of the paper and power making process so we can reuse the lime.

        Interesting! I didn't really take notice of any of the equipment while I was there, we tried to get in and out rather quickly, as we were trespassing. haha
