    Metallic bluee

Well my original plans for the first E30 were to swap a rebuilt and cammed chevy 350 small block into it. After realizing more than half of the car was rusted out, I put the project on hold and picked up another one as a daily.

    First day driving home:

It was recently repainted a metallic blue, which looks very nice when the car is washed. Has 180k on the motor or something like that. Passenger side wheel bearing was completely shot. Had trouble idling. The basic bullshit.

First thing was to get rid of the blown stock suspension and fix the wheel bearing.

I swapped my full bc coilover set from the project car onto this one, which resulted in:

In an attempt to fix the rough idle and all around boggyness of the car, I put in some new plugs; did nothing. New fuel filter; did nothing. Decided to adjust the valves and instantly had the biggest "wat" look on my face. Probably the biggest Ill ever have in my life. I take off the valve cover to find this, sitting in the valve train up again the side of the head.....

    completely unbelievable..

After I pulled the ever so convenient clamp out of the head and finished adjusting the valves, the car started to run a bit better :)

THEN. I ditched the 15x6 +38 wheels that came on the car. I got a very good deal on a set of 15x8 +0 offset 002's. Now I know how almost everyone on the forums feels about 002's, so Im fully expecting to get hated on for them, but its all good.

To maybe change your minds about hating heres a couple dslr pics I took along with some pics by a local photographer who Im helping get his name out.

Now for the JDS Photography pics:

If any of you guys like the way he shot these, please follow him on facebook @ http://www.facebook.com/JosephDSphotography I think he really has talent, just gotta get his name gets out there!

So there she is. All comments good or bad welcome. The car still runs rough sometimes. Its boggy in low RPM's, and I thought maybe the fuel filter was restricting some flow. Its idles fine, revs up when you go easy on it, but if I were idling and push the pedal to the floor, thats when it gets bad. If anyone has any ideas what it could be, im willing to try whatever. Thanks for looking!

sounds like you ought to rebuild the fuel injectors, check fuel filter/pumps/etc, the O2 sensor, AFM/air filter, and the TPS.

dat e30 looks pretty. pretty beat too, but still a nice color. i almost don't mind the valances and skirts either... but please wash it next time!

Fuel filter is brand new, TPS is good as well. Ill check the injectors when I do the intake manifold gasket.

Yeah its definitely rough around the edges. I love it though. And haha I knew I'd get called out about it being dirty! It was a spur of the moment shoot. I had no idea they'd come out as good as they did. He wants to do a full shoot in the day time next, I promise it'll be fully detailed before it :)

Eh, I dont mind how 15's look. Like I said though I got a killer deal on the wheels and tires, so I cant really complain all that much.

Another update, I drove it home for the first time tonight. About halfway to my house it started sounding like a subaru, like sounding like it was misfiring like crazy. Now, messed up injectors were brought up a couple posts ago, would this cause it to run like this? Ive never rebuilt injectors before so this is new ground for me.

Keep the 15's. Looks more tough.

I myself am quite partial to e30's on 15's, have to be low enough though. Something that's very difficult doing with the fronts on e30's.

And besides, its beats the 15x6 that came on it :)

No I definitely know what you mean. The kit came on the car and I dont know what kind it is. Im debating taking the sideskirts off because they hang too low for my taste. If I leave them on and raise the car it will look awkward.

Is that the original color or was it repainted at some point? True blue E30s are pretty rare, except for cirrusblau which is more gray/silver than blue IMO.
