    SantaCruzE30's Build/Resurrection

So, I am 18 years old and i just bought my second car.
My first car is a 1996 4Runner 4x4. i know EVERYTHING about these. i love my truck and it is my DD.

As of late 16 mpg has been getting old.... So i went on the search for a good commuter car seeing how i fill up the truck once a week. ive always wanted a BMW and have been into drifting and AutoX my whole life. So i work at an auto shop and one of the mechanics knew that this car was at a local BMW shop and told me to go check it out. So i did and this is what i saw.

It was driven from Rhode Island to here in Cali. when he got here the tranny went bad. He brought it to this shop and had a new one put in. He never came and picked it up. so it sat. it was last registered in Sept. of 2004 so im guessing thats how long it has been sitting. The clear coat is almost all gone but there are no dents at all. there is some rust on the rocker panels, not bad tho. It needs a DME computer part and one other thing i cant remember. This weekend i am bringing it into the shop, draining all the fluids and seeing what is what. it is far from perfect but i want it as a project and look forward to learning about these cars.

Nice. Looking forward to seeing the build progress. If the car was abandoned, do you have the title?

You're better off than when I got my e30. Good luck and stick to searching and asking questions in your build thread. BEST way to learn is to read build threads in the project section. SO MUCH INFO!

If asked in a proper manner ANYONE here will respond and honestly bust ass to help.

                    Welcome to R3vlimited =)

P.S. If you want suspension/wheel fitment you're more than welcome to PM me. Kinda my true love on e30s <3

Replaced the oil filter, drained coolant, oil, and the old gas.
Put new gas, oil, coolant in it. Picked the ignition coil and computer from the parts car. Hooked up the battery charger to it and the engine cranks. The rubber fuel lines are cracked just from being old. Replaced one and going to do the rest tomorrow. Also need to check the spark plugs.

I have a bunch of photos of the underside of the car. let me know how bad you guys think it is..

                        the new tranny

                        sorry for the crappy photo

new filter. ( love how easy it is to get to!)

                        ewwwww -_-

suspension (M sports, Bilstein. what ive been told.)
