Sitting near the ECU should be another box, usually green however rebuilt ones can be blue. This is the idle computer (Motronic 1.0 used a separate computer to run the idle control valve) Make sure you have one in there, that could be another culprit.

      Looks like this:

im guessing this is where it was? looks like i need to get one!

i cant remember if the dash on that car in moss landing is better.

                      I think it is.

as far as a dash, I see perfect ones all the time.

If you dont find parts in moss landing, there were 5 really nice e30s in south san joses pick n pull.

and a couple in north san jose.

I did not see any that were your color, wwhich is my color, othe than the one I got.

I personally think you should just get a new hood and front fenders someday just for the paint.

the one in moss landing is a vert, so the fenders dont fit right. but the hood would have.

I think your hood is especially ugly personally I think that will make all the difference, and a hood isnt hard to find you just might need to take a trip to stockton and sacramento picknpulls.

theres still a lot of parts in that moss landing car worth taking

things like the cap and rotor

i wish i had taken the hood pull thing cause mine is broken.

i wish i had taken the convertible lid shocks cause both mine are bad.

i really think it still has the bottle cap wheels i wish i had taken those

good find! should be a good project.

i have a '87 325e sitting in my parents yard that ive been picking parts off of for the last 2 years for my '88 325is. i've gotten my money out of it so if you need anything let me know, i'd be glad to pull some parts off and send 'em your way if you cover the shipping. it was a running car but was totally rotted out so its just sitting now.
