To answer your question, yes. I am running e90 top hats and I got the springs from someone on the boards that had cut 1/3 of the bottom coil if my memory serves me right and no change to the rears.

I got them through Advance Auto Parts. They have a lifetime warranty. For fitment, they were pretty good aside from the cap that meets the diff flange had an inner diameter that was a little to big but by drawing the bolts in, it fit just fine by conforming to the shape of the flange.
