Ahhh... you bought this off the kid who bought the E36 after he broke the pan and never changed it? He seemed like a cool guy. Was kinda sad to here he gave up in the e30.
If you can't see whats wrong.. look at the middle coils. They are waaaay too close together. What a horrible way to "slam" your car. This should be changed soon.
More to come.
That looks broken...Don't think anyone did that on purpose...

& I might get a stick trans soon.
Dont know his name but sounds exactly like him. Gray 4 door E36 .
He stopped by our shop with the car and asked us what it would be to change the Pan, never saw him after that until i decided to attend the Applebees meet in warwick and he told me he let it run low and it got Rod knock.

M50 Swap!
Custom BBS RS (very bandwagon, but so nice. Until then I'll get Diamond Racing Wheels)
Lowering it to a point where it's like "DAMN thats low" but still functional for grip and drift events
Possibly Turbo the M50 after awhile?
I think you'd be happier just having a nice suspension and brakes rather than an m50, plus it would be progress toward reliability rather than complicity. and any "DAMN that's low" would never be functional for grip. one or the other.
the thing about the m50 is that it's not that much faster than the m20's.
my 325e (before I did the frankenstein) would blow away my e34 no problem, and wouldn't be left feeling too hurt after loosing to an e36
but on a good handling setup with a well running engine you could still do drift, and really have a good handling car at an autox. and a higher ratio diff would help more than you'd imagine.
something to think about.
I don't think you're going to be running that suspension setup. You're getting into a mildly sporty low budget car, not a dtm or nurburgring time attack car. I think barely clearing speed bumps or not being able to at all is "damn low" or whatever.
Well for those that know a bit about e30's and cars, know that "slammed" obviously didn't good for grip. But for an e30, and those that know how high they are, a +/- 2inch drop is "damn thats low" with the right wheel/tire setup. That's what I was getting at with that statement.
