My car was never and will never be a ETA. It left the factory as a 87 325iS. I've since restored and modified the shit out of it. Best offer I've received to date on the car is $13,200. That’s quite a bit more then the nothing you claim its worth. I constantly have customers are work asking if I will sell the car....

I think you mean S14.NET. That’s where all the stuck up pretentious twits with their precious ///M3's hang out.

Ah... I'm willing to bet your car would handle significantly better if you shod it in appropriate size tires for the width of the wheel.

You previously stated you are running these wheel sizes:
    17x8.5 Front with 215/40/17
    17x9.5 Rear with 245/35/17

You should be running 245/40 or 245/35 in front, and 265/35 or 275/35 rear.
That would be very respectible. Instead you are running gay looking (in my opinion, shared by many) stretched "eurOh" tires.

My car is far from a 4x4 thank you very much.

Yes, I will be running 245/35R18 on all 4 corners. What’s wrong with that? It's called proper aspect ratio. It keeps the speedo as correct as possible, and keeps the tires from owning the shit out of my fenders.

I'm glad you like your car. But insulting me, my taste, and my car because you are butt hurt just makes it obvious what a insignifiwaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles fuck YOU are.

Good idea. I don't see why every other thread has to turn into one of these shitfests.

Its because everyone has their own opinion, and noone can take constructive criticism from anyone.

whatever jordan. I can take criticism no problem, and you can always find a sucker to pay for anything. my car is worth what you were offered stock, not with 20,000 invested into it. its all good, you dont like my tires, and i dont like E36 parts on E30s. I have no problem with you jordan, and can completely agree with you 90% of the time. I wiped away my tears, and am now a new man! rock on, and i do have alot of respect for your car, just not the attitude you have alot of times.

you don't need 245 tires on any car on this forum for any number is reasons - not the least of which is the staggered tire size with end up promoting even more understeer than the chasis already produces (plenty) and handling is certainly not benefited from biasing the rear further in that direction.

you don't need to run 840 calipers for performance reasons - and if anyone is interested there is a MAMOTH thread on this on s14.net... jake larsen has done it right with a lot of custom machined parts to make this work on an e30 m3 but its totally unnecessary. There are guys running 300+hp Grp.A s14's and used upgraded, stock brakes until they started making near 280-300 whp. No one here is anywhere close to those numbers, so all the upgrade you need is e30 m3 brakes. If your car is overweight with ICE, a cage and other shit, then you might need larger brakes to adequately slow you down from high speeds, but unless you're willing to pony up the $ to get an AP setup (or equivalent) you will just be adding to the mass of car in a place that doesn't want or need it.

People spend a grip of money on brake stuff like this or trying to graft subframes ect. onto the car - with ultimately no real performance benefit. If people want to do something just to say they did thats fine, i guess i just have the opinion that you would be better off to buy a set of Ferrodo pads and throw a 25mm MC with some frozen rotots and ATE fluid into a stock e30 m3 setup (which is exactly what i'm in the process of doing - and the car will stop more than adequately for track and autox use)... and save a lot of money and time

Also - i have a seriously hard time believing that most of these "slammed" e30's have suspensions that work worth a shit. if its not suspension travel, its fender clearence. then you have to live with a load of negative camber to get the tires to clear the fender. Then you have alignment issues. None of this is good for performance - any you say that the car is a "show" car or whatever else, you ought to considder that lower is not always better. I am solving this problem right now on my car to fix suspension travel AND rear camber issues.... if you want the car to set up properly these issues have to be addressed. - note - i am not saying all of these cars have this problem, but many of them likely do.

Sad thing is my e36 m3 will straight own most cars i've driven in the braking department - modified e30's included.

S14 is a lot of things, but "non-pretentious" sure as hell isn't one of them. S14 back 4 years or so ago was a great site, the last year and a half it has gotten real painful to read - it appears to be a shift in membership. Any thread which isn't "this car fellates me and the s14 is made from god's own marrow" turns into a 24 page bitchfest. Between those and the 8 month long "let's try and reengineer a 20 year old part that the factory rengineered to a better design 19 years ago" threads, it just makes me shake my head.

^^ membership shift is right, unfortunately - the e30 m3 has become expensive to the point where people are not simply buying it for a performance car and one of the best road cars for someone who really wants to start researching and applying race car engineering, but as a "i bought this blah blah and its rare and expensive blah blah (insert ignorant asshole comment) it has a wing, yadda yadda" which is obviously bad for the discussion.

the unfortunate natural progression i guess

I love sarcasm and can appreciate copious amounts of it. I suppose I havent really noticed this shift you speak of since I basically just pay attention to the people Ive known for about 5 years that are on there (which were there when the site started). Sad that you like for your forum to get bigger and be known but then theres a line thats crossed when it turns to absolute shit and the growth brings the inevitable people that bring down the quality of the site, and its not like you can choose who signs up and preserve that critical mass of goodness. I think its quite an informative site and have known most those dudes for a long time. The comment about the E30 ///M3s and their rise in price is true. Its sad that now people arent getting them as much to enjoy the driving characteristics. Inherently, that ushers in a new attitude in the owners. I guess Im stuck in a few years ago, cuz I always really enjoyed the site and didnt pay attention to the pricks. BTW, the "re-engineering a 20 year old part" comment was hilarious.

How's about everybody shut the fuck up and post what the man asked for?

H&R cup kit for suspension. Handles great but is admittedly a little uncompliant/rattly for everyday use in my bumpy neighborhood - wondering what to do about that short of a nice new set of coilovers. I have to note it rides beautifully on less nasty roads than I have around me.
