Hey everyone. I bought a 1989 Zinnoberrot 325iC yesterday. It has 167k miles with working odometer and near perfect compression. The paint was fresh about three years ago with lots of clear but it sat in his garage most of the time until now. Car came from the factory with MTech 380mm steering wheel, power everything, and limited slip rear differential. Unfortunately it has the 4 speed autotragic. Needs a new convertible top ASAP. It's currently sitting in my little shop until I find a place to get the top replaced and and a dry day so I don't have to dry out the interior.
Things I need to do in no specific order:
New convertible top (highest priority)
Polish the paint to perfection and apply OptiCoat and then clear bra the areas susceptible to rock chips.
Use ozone machine on interior to eradicate any kinds of fungus and then scrub everything with an enzyme solution to make sure nothing comes back.
Condition the leather sport seats with the Leatherique twins.
Get those nice lifetime warranty plush floor mats from Bavarian Autosport (unless anyone here says they're crap).
Replace floor carpeting.
Reupholster leather sports seats.
Replace any leaky weather seals.
Replace gas struts for top cover and trunk.
Replace stereo system.
Get a valve job and valve cover gasket done.
Replace front control arms, all four springs and shocks, and rear left suspension control arm strut mount.
Replace power steering reservoir.
Replace rubber intake elbow.
Perform full coolant flush.
Get smaller MTech2 steering wheel.
Find a nice plastic front and rear valance and maybe side skirts.
Possibly drop in a 5 speed manual transmission.
