    My brilliantrot M20 powered 318is

I've been a member a long time and owned many E30s, but have been away from the online scene for a while. She's a 91 318is with a 2.5L M20 swap. Mods include: BavAuto springs, Bilsteins, RD bars with 16" BBS RX wheels. Engine is rebuilt stock with straight pipes to a scorpion muffler and chip. 3.73 LSD. About 100k miles on it.

Scroll down for embedded pics! Sorry, been a while!

Alex! It's been a while, glad to see E30's are still the family theme. Hope you and everyone are well.

                    Live/work in Raleigh NC.

I bought an E36 a few years ago but really haven't enjoyed the car. I'm very happy to have another E30 in the stable! The E36, while a more comfortable car, just doesn't make me smile like the E30 does, though the former is more predictable at the limit. Right now I'm finishing up a Cruise Control installation, troubleshooting poor fuel consumption and installing some new trim pieces.

                    Plans for 2013:

                    Euro ellips/HID
                    IS lip spoiler
                    350mm wheel
                    Map light mirror
                    Rebuild LSD
                    Airbox
                    Rear CA/subframe bushings
                    Single-exit exhaust
                    Rebuild shifter

I'll be happy to take a video. Having run a variety of exhaust setups I can say that I'm pleased with the straight pipe/scorpion combination, but of course this is all very subjective. It's certainly not quiet, but by no means "loud" in my book. The drone is minimal though there is a resonance at a certain rpm that sometimes can get you. However, it is at lower revs so not a problem on the highway. There's a bit of rasp to it and the occasional pop on the overrun (who doesn't love that). Overall, a good tone, I think.

The Alpine early car? Sweet. Sorry we didn't get a chance to talk.. I was too busy drooling over Bob Ingram's GT3 RS 4.0! I love my red, but miss the Alpine!
