Hello fellas, I Just bought a 1991 318is hennarot red and its a slick top. Has about 130k miles give or take.
Excited on this purchase since I have previously owned a 1984 325e when I was 16 (Age 20 now) which my neighbor sold to me for $100 and with a broken oil pan, after I replaced oil pan it started right up. It ran well and gave me good gas mileage always started up for the 4 years I've had it and also the mileage being over 300k
Replacing the transmission myself I loved the practicality, simplicity and durabilty of these cars...I loved this car and I had no idea what an e30 was up until a year ago when my friends were telling me what car I have been driving.
So now about my new e30, bought it for $3700 and everything runs mechanically fine. Glove box latch not working, Cracked dash, odo stopped working, front seats have a some tear. Everything is stock except its on H&R's and billy's.
Looking for some advice on what to do with my new purchase. Things I want to do within these next couple months.
-Already fixed odometer.
-bought red rubber floor mats (I'm a avid surfer as well)
-Bought skid plate (Replaced oil pan about 4 times on my 84 325e)
-Bought IS lip and glove box.
-bought water pump super kit (pelican parts) and
-Bought Suspension kit and also a hose kit (blunttech)
-new steering rack assembly bought (rack doctor) with new p/s hoses as well.
-I want to install fog lights on my car, but the switch for for lights is absent and I can't find the wiring??? Also has no cruise control.
-Want to install an alarm (maybe autostart too?) on car as well as a new stereo.
-I want to install some headlights, thinking about euro smilies with euro grilles.
-(giving my car a new coat of brilliantrot and reupholster my black front seats during spring break in April)
-Later down the road probably get some bbs rs rims, dont know which kind.
-M tech steering wheel and a shift knob
Looking for some of your guy's opinions. And what should I do to the car.
Well there you have it, I hope to acquire knowledge on my car as well as spread some knowledge I have attained while fixing my old 84 325e
Thanks RUFFLZ, my co-worker for telling me to create an account on R3v.
