    Friend's E30 Project, eta bokeh

Not the Chalkboard this time but something different. Convinced a friend to start up an E30 track car project. We found this one essentially for free, sans the towing cost to the house. It's a early model eta coupe. Involved in a front end collision, the hood, passenger side fender, core support and some attaching all need to be replaced.

The distributor was crushed in the collision so hopefully after replacing that and a few other parts, we'll get this thing running again. Photo time

    Damage

    Now

Interior is in pretty good shape

    What we're looking at

After drilling out some spot welds, cutting was needed

    Replacing the distributor cap

We spent the rest of the time removing what was left of the core support and cleaning up the frame rails. Hopefully we can get the new core in and get her up and running by next week. More photos to follow...

                              Few updates

Got the car running again and man it runs well. Cut a good core support off a junkyard e30 and began the fitting process. Also sourced a few other parts to get the front end back together

                              sizing up

ghetto radiator support to make sure that the motor works (it does!)

                              not broken grilles and radiator

                              new headlights

So far, we have cleaned up the core support and it is clamped in place on the car. We pulled a hood and few other bits. Right now just trying to get everything aligned before we bolt the core support in place. I'll try and get some new photos up of the current progress tomorrow.
