    The new ish.

Finally upgraded to Ground Control / Koni SA's. Man am I glad its finally done!

    Full parts list:

    Ground Control Coilovers (375lb F) (450lb R)
IE race camber plates /w spherical bearing.
    Koni Single Adjustables
    JT Design RSM's
Suspension Techniques Swaybars (22mm Front, 19mm adjustable Rear)
Ground Control hiem jointed front swaybar droplinks (not installed yet)
IE hiem jointed rear swaybar droplinks

    Pictures:

Front Wheel / Tire Hieght (tuckage)

    Front strut assembly

    Front strut assembly, other side

    Rear suspension

Total install took 2.5hrs. Drove into bay, lift car, uninstall Cupkit and box it up. Cut off stock front perches and weld on GC perches. Adjust coilovers to min hieght and drive away. I left the camber plates as they were provided, and they match fine. I will be doing an alignment soon though to get everything squared up.

I'm overly satisfied with the end result. The car just stick stick sticks around corners, and even crossing the limit and powersliding out of corners it sits marvelously flat.

I've got just over 130miles on the new setup. The ride is significantly smoother then the CupKit was. I currently have the Koni's set to full soft front/rear. We shall see how this changes as it firms up.

All I have to do now is pick up another pair of 17x8.5 DS2's and some 245/40 tires so I can ditch the understeer from having 225's on 7.5's up front.

    looks good,
ever since I helped Dan with his set-up I've wanted to do the same.

I'm impressed with the 2.5 hr install time, but then again with a lift and many tools it should have been a breeze :D

Very nice setup Jordan. I think the rims are the only thing holding your car back now. OEM rims just can't cut it for a car as modified as yours.

what?! those rims look fuckin hot on that car...i dont think any aftermarket rim would tie things together as well as that rim does.

Bah. I just don't personally agree with spending that much money and time on a car, with that much attention to detail, and then using a rim that was stock on millions of other cars.

Plus I think they are ugly :D

How is the shock travel in the front? I bet the camber plates help a lot with allowing you to go so low by reducing the stack height. I dont have mine set nearly as low and it appears that I have 2.5" of shock travel before the bumpstops.

Well for now these get the job done and are cheap. I will be running 18x8.5 CSL replicas and 245/35R18 on all 4 corners someday. Until a large chunk change falls in my lap ($1500) I can't do this. The wheels themselves are ~$700 shipped, but the tires are OUCH. Go price a GOOD 245/35R18 then *4. Now figure tires twice a year.

Yes, they do. I purchased mine from C3 Motorsport, name "slyder" here. He also arranged the Koni GB I bought my Koni's from. Good guy, excellent customer support. Buy them from him!

Suspension travel thus far seems excellent. No issues hitting bumpstops or anything of that sort. Camber plates definately help in the front to reduce this issue.

There are a couple dips/ramps in the road on my regular routes around town that I had to slow down to 20mph or less with the cupkit to avoid scrapping my splitter/lip on. I can now take them at full speed 40+ without a scrape. Also with the cupkit and the 245's out back they would rub the inner fender skin (not the fender lip) while squating hard at WOT in 1st/2nd/sometimes 3rd. This is now no longer an issue at all.

You might bottom out the rear springs by running them at full low. I have the same spring rates w/ Koni's and the adjusters destroyed the plastic upper spring pads after a few months of driving.

At last, the proper suspension setup for your car. The CupKit just wasn't right for as heavily modified as your car is, too soft and too "for looks".

Very nice, how about some full car shots?

                        Will do. Thanks!

Are you not using external bump stops?

No bumpstops up front no. Not needed.

The tire will bottom out on the inner (unibody) fender deal before the strut insert bottoms out.

Rear Koni's have bumpstops in them.

1500 for replicas, yeah ouch! I didnt know you could fit 245/35/18s on an e30, have you done anything other than roll the fenders? Anyone ever tubbed the rear of an e30 or made some sort of modification to allow something bigger in back atleast?

looks awesome though, Ill probably get a similar setup

There are guys running more than 245's under stock arches and fender liners, but 245 is about the comfortable max.

The replica rims are only about $700 like Jordan said, but a tire that big is bank...
