What E30s are meant for. (rally content)

So a buddy and I took my E30 to the rally course this past weekend. There was a separate rallycross event going on unrelated to us, but a VW scirocco broke away and joined us later in the day, since what we were doing appeared to be more fun.

Anyway, some of the pics below, many more pics in the main thread here: http://coloradorallyracing.com/forum....php?f=2&t=205

And at the end of the day, the car looked like this...

Funny you ask. The windows being down actually was not the dominant contributor to the mud bulk that entered the car. I high centered/bottomed out kind of hard on a berm that must have contained a sizeable rock because it blasted a hole in the floopan of the car right behind the driver's seat, and it acted as a mud scoop, so the driver's floorpan now has about three inches of liquid mud in it, with mud splattered all over the rear bodywork below the bench seat, which caused it to splatter all over the back of the Recaros as well...

As far as the windows being open, nearly nothing entered while driving straight, but as soon as the car went into a significant slide, the forward-facing side window would bring in all the airborne stuff, of which there was a lot.

Looks very fun. When driving with your windows open, how dirty does the interior get?

No need for AWD. AWD is cheating.

It was a daily that I rallyx'd... When it was hanging with WRXs it was cool that old BMW AWD could keep up.

man i need to get my iX stroker engine sorted... after that belt commited suicide it has been nothing but trouble. It will be good to get back to the springs and get some work done on it (I found a job btw!)

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.
