Project not a v8.......daily

So was shit tagged last week in my daily b5 s4. So needing a new daily, not wanting to finance another car, and knowing that dailying a gutted, cammed, carbed v8 swap e30 wasn't gonna work. The search was on.

Wound up spotting an 1987 4 door with frontend damage on craigslist and figured it was worth a look.

This is what i found


Core support was pushed back about 2" and rad had smashed the fan and fan clutch.

Loaded it on the trailer after starting it and getting the worst banshee scream from the engine bay and my buddy and i yelling a few choice words at each other as we normally do (disfunctionally functional?) got it home and decided to unload it the next day

We hadn't counted on it raining all day and parked the loaded truck/trailer in my field. Bad idea. Truck got stuck and this is the result




Got it unloaded and after a quick spray down started yanking parts





Now that i had a blank canvas to work with i started working my magic on the redneck frame rack.



And shes at least dimensionally back in place


Now for the real test......

Hood lines up perfect!




Shes an auto and im gonna need some headlights,grills, valance and hood but for the whopping price of $350 id say not a bad score. Its got a bunch of goodies and has been well maintained. Interior is spotless and up til the hit so was the exterior.



For now my only plans are to pick up the require front end parts, get a cheap set of coils, some sport seats and drive it back and forth to work.

Did you get the swamp out of there before the core/bumper went on haha? Poor car had a rough life, glad you are fixing it up!

My two all-time favorite cars are the S4 B5 and the late model e30.
After I'm done with the e30, I've been really condisering getting an S4.
Those things are so nice! Some bigger turbos, a tune, and an exhaust, and you're pushing some mad power!

Sorry to hear about your S4 though. Gonna keep it?

Prob try selling it whole to a russian on cl otherwise ill part it. Trunk was pushed back and down so there no way of pulling it back. Pretty much have to cut off and reweld new panels on to get it all to fit right.

What are the specs of the car and how much you trying to get?

149k sportline trim package, apr software, vibrant exhaust stasis street sports, awe dts, awe boost gauge, rs4 grill, ecodes w/ clear corners. Prob more cant remember. Looking to get high 2s-3k. If i cant get that outright ill part it and get 3+ out of it that way. Plan is to use the $ for another more daily-able explorer 5.0 swap (efi shorter accesories gt40 heads and manis) car.

Going to pick up the new fan this afternoon. Stole a few parts off the v8 car until i can find the replacement parts. Should be on the rd this afternoon baring a bent wp shaft. Looks fine now but ill find out for sure if its wonky.
