    Wtf? Euro!!!

I just finished swapping a late model valence under a set of Euro bumpers on my girlfried's car. It required a bit of cutting, grinding, bending, measuring, and welding. Check it out.

Hmm, I kinda like but the gaps hurt it for me.

You're getting them painted white where there is chrome right? I'm doing the same.

and don't worry, a set of foglights and brake ducts are on the way here. Ohh, and also a new turn signal housing. (thanks Max)

Oh, sorry I wasn't specific. I meant the gaps on the sides on the fenders.

There is a reason euros have old valances.

Good work on making it fit though.

Now work on filling those gaps with something
          :)

you meant the gaps between the bumper and fender (in the corners).
I didn't cut that part of the valence away.
The upper part of the valence is the original '87 valence. The lower part is from a '91 cabrio.

Nice idea. I have to see it when the trim is on correctly. It also needs to have the fogs and brake ducts, plus the lower grille and I think it will look better. Not to bad though, just some spaces to fill like everyone mentioned.

                i like the gloves btw.

1/2in gaps top and bottom. Looks like shit.

At least paint the section visable around/behind the bumper black so its not so paintfully obvious.

If you were smart you would cut the bottom section of the valance and weld it back to the under section a inch higher and mount the bumper in the new channel nice and snug.

Either way there are several other dimentions in which it doesn't fit that you have "cleaverly" left out the proper angles to see it clearly.

I'm sorry. Many people have had this "idea"

                        Its NOTHING NEW.

No one's actually done it yet because its pretty clear upon simple comparison of photographs it wouldn't look good / right.

Like I said tho, if you insist on leaving it like that mount the bumper as high as it will go, cut the lower valance off, and weld it snug against the bottom of the bumper. Then paint the channel black and slap the bumper back on.

Fit will still be horrid, but at least it will look like someone tried.

I know. The fogs and brake ducts are on the way. We already have the oil cooler grill, it's just at my gf's house so I haven't put it on yet. The bumper trim that is missing is just part of the turn signal housing (which is also on the way).
I just finished installing it today, so I thought I would post some pics up. I figured that most people could realize that once the trim is on, it will look better.
I am satisfied at how it turned out. I will post pics once I have all of the other trim pieces on.

                            Thanks for the comment dousche.

0.5" gaps above and below the bumper, ehh? So, what you are saying is that it is even? hmm.

I did not change the location of the bumper. The front section of the bumper is BRAND NEW, along with all of the mounting brackets. It is all mounted in the original location. That 1/2 inch gap is the same gap that is on EVERY front Euro bumper. Are you saying that BMW designed their cars crappy because there is a half inch gap above the valence? Also, every person on this forum with Euro bumpers has a crappy fitment because there is a gap above the bumper? Get a clue.

                            yours truly,
                            -Erik
