That dent on the passenger side rear quarter by the fuel door seems to be very common on e30's. Great deal for $750.

I hate that in CA you can get so many clean as fuck righteous cars for cheap just because nobody wants to deal with minor gremlins/no-starts.

the dents can be popped out by an expect PDR specialist. The first thing that needs to be done is the timing belt and water pump otherwise you driving a ticking timebomb. The car is a decent deal though otherwise.

                        Nice find!

Timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and flush ALL the fluids (including trans and diff). Should be very reliable after that.

Good call on the bug bomb bro.

So I decided to do the timing belt myself. I have been following the guide on this site and so far it's been a breeze. Here is a pic of the timing belt:

A mechanic I showed this pic to thought it looked fine, but I'm going to replace it anyway. Got the tdc lines lined up:

                          and

BTW when I got to work I found the radiator was covered with tar, plant matter, bugs that died in the eighties, etc. It is freaking amazing that this car drove for over an hour and a half from my Dad's place to mine and over some very steep hills with out overheating, not even close. I don't have a pic but here's what it looks like now. I circled the part that was covered. ;)

When I took it off it gushed tons of fluid. Some of it was even coolant! Most of it was rusty brown crud. I stuck a hose in the top and washed brown crud out for about 5 minutes. I'm going to use a good chemical flush on it, but like I said, it worked great with all the crap. It should be fantastic clean.
