Are the rear shock towers strong enough to take the load from the spring?

The fittings I used are not what we normally ship with our shocks, they were just something I threw on to expedite the build process since I needed the shocks ASAP. I was told not to post photos of them on the internet...

Well this is going to open up a big ol can of worms BUUUUT... maybe? I have heard a lot of people say that the shock towers blow with CO rear, but truth be told we at MCS have built a lot of coilover shocks for BMWs and have yet to hear any news of destroyed towers. Some people choose to reinforce the rear (well, most actually since they are usually race cars), some leave it as is. I may have mentioned it in this thread before, but a friend and I are working on building a bar that will tie the towers into the diff so that should DEFINITELY be enough reinforcement if there isn't enough already.

My own eyeballs saw dozens of E30's with rear coil overs bouncing around the nurburgring without cages or elaborate boxing of the rear shock towers. I believe it's partially an internet myth older than bimmer.org.

Yes the price is high. Whats more crazy is how quickly people are buying our shocks (not bragging)... I never thought I'd see so many people willing to drop this kind of money on just shocks. But you really do get what you pay for. These are all hand built and dyno tested, meaning if your shocks don't match each other by about 10%, they don't leave our facility.
I had a set of Stasis Motorsports on my Audi and they were worth every penny. The ride from them was amazing and everyone who test drove my car commented on the suspension before anything else.

When I save up enough to upgrade I'll definitely look into MCS as an option as well.

Yes, I'm still M20 powered. Although, that will hopefully change soon! I will post some track vids as soon as I get them. I need to fix some more stuff before I can get back on track.

What kind of updates would you like? I haven't been able to hit the track yet, thanks to a bad engine. It started knocking last week so I'm trying to baby it until I have a new motor lined up.

Here's some pics of the car http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=289874
