hello every one. i thought id start a thread about the life of my E30 since i might actually get some major work done in the next month or so. i bought a 325e to have as a project/drift car to learn on. i want to hear the feedback from you guys/girls to see what else i should do or look into.
here is the day i got it.

within the next few days i had the whole interior out. there was surface rust in the trunk until i sanded it and painted over the metal. the car was hit from behind at some point, so the trunk doesn't latch and the rear end is dented in a bit. i looked past it since i will most likely crash or hit something while learning to drift.

here is the worst part of rust on the car.

i welded in a new piece (i am learning how to weld during this project so you will see some pretty bad looking welds but they are holding up nice.)

i picked this up from a friend. i will be buying a new master because the one on it now is junk.

here it is mounted in the car.

i picked up a 4.10 rear differential from a local BMW guy out here for 40 bucks. the same day i had my buddy weld it for me.

after the test run i guess you can say i came in too hot :dot:

after i bought a bag of grass seed i installed the lines for the hydraulic brake. when i got under the car and found how bad the brake lines were i decided to redo the back lines. after a day i decided to take out the ABS and just redo everything. so i bought a 25' roll and started working.

i didnt buy and steel braided lines besides the inner rear ones. after i saw how they were set up from the factory, i wasn't even going to try and save them.
after that i tackled into my steering problem. i took the steering column out along with the linkage and found out that one of the U joints was binding up. after getting a used one i drilled out the rivets and replaced them with bolts.

after spending time fixing the my VW i found out i exhausted my bank account (go figure.) so the BMW sat. i found out my friend had a cheap seat sitting in his basement so i snagged that from him and mounted it.

the next week i got an R.J.S. 5 point harness for free too.

my future plans are to put and M50, coilovers, and an e36 steering rack. i am hoping to get it all done next month, but who knows. i will be sure to keep posting on my progress.
