I've been toying with selling my e39 m5 for an e28. Have a 535is in my warehouse tempting me.

      This adds to my desire

Just saying....1jz in a bagged car?

            Maybe for bling factor?

Yea, cause once you bag a car its just as slow as the stock e28 eta it was.

When you talk about a big single JZ engine and putting the power down, you don't think about bags.

              Catch my drift?

Meh, ive had the pleasure of a few joyrides in it and it hooks up fine with the bags. Maximum traction? No, but burnouts are cool.

                  Bags would be fun

Either way the car is awesome!

You don't "think about bags" when you want to truly focus on shaving time from your laptimes. Otherwise, you legitimately shouldn't care. Bag are going to "put the power down" immeasurably close to a standard coilover system for any street driver.
                    C'mon man.

I don't understand why people think the bags affect handling or it's ability to put the power down in the slightest. I have sway bars on the car still front and rear, and at a drive height equal to that of most lowering springs for e28s it rides and handles exceptionally well (much better than the Suspension Technique and Spax springs I have had on the car previously, which I assume are what most of you would think is a better choice?). The technology in air ride has really caught up, it's not a soft sloppy mess like so many people seem to believe. The tires are stretched but it still has a decently sticky 245 out back, I have no trouble getting it to grip, in corners or otherwise. Is the wheel/tire setup ideal if you were going to do an event? I suppose not, but it will allow you to drive every bit as aggressive as you should on the street and then some. Not that I should have to justify to anyone why I have chosen to modify my car in the way that I have, the misconceptions are just frustrating.

Do you have in process shots of the rear flare/arch mods ?

Variety is the spice of life and this man has built his car to look and function to his standards and satisfy his desires, as we all should. I would get bored as fuck looking at a bunch of cars just like mine. Have fun out there on the left coast.

                        Nice work!

Fair enough guys, I see your points about bags.
Maybe in alone in thinking bags aren't as good as coils due to my lack of knowledge in the bag technology.

In gonna look into them some more now.

                            Enough about bags vs coils.
                            This car looks like fun!

Any more info on the engine? Or pics?

Your whole response was clearly defending your personal views. Honestly I think it is gorgeous, bags nope. I think it could be SO MUCH better without stretch and camber correction with some amazing metal work in the arches. The car can be better, that is my personal thoughts.

And no matter what people think, bags will never out handle a proper static coilover setup. Sure they can get better designs for inserts and bags. But you will always have the failing point of bags. Springs will always have better control and response vs racing with rubber bags. That is a fact.

So as the owner of an outlandish useless daily driver track car, I suggest you just ignore it. "Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one"

Again, the car is stunning. The paint is just to die for, the wheels are unreal. They are my all time favorite, I desire a set beyond words. HRE>BBS

So just love you car and don't give a fuck what anyone says :)

It's just the lack of knowledge about bags. The manual valve setups were a sloppy mess when you tried to take a corner the way they used to be setup, so I'm sure that's part of it. From talking with people who autox hot rods on bags, my understanding is the rebound has to be much more aggressive since it has nothing holding it back the way a spring does. They can handle great and be competitive though when setup correctly, just not on bmw's, therefore everyone here thinks it can't happen. Ridetech has done a ton for the airride community for handling in the nostalgia arena, it'll trickle down as more people bag bmw's.

Your car looks great, I love the wheel arch modification, really subtle but changes the look a lot.
