    iS' bout damn time

As you all know, I've been on the fucking prey for a clean 318is for a reasonable price for some time now.
Around this time last year, I had totaled my 325is and acquired a 325i from the original owner in LA.

After driving that around the past year, I started to get an itch for a 318is once again.
I quickly started to see the trend in these particular models and this was my reaction
after looking at so many crack-head edited ads.

At one point, I even settled for this.
A relatively clean sterling silber 318is.

I slapped my euroweaves and a few suspension bits, but idk.
    wasn't feelin' it.
So I sold it to a cool guy who also happened to be a Oakland cop LOL

After basically giving up, I stumbled upon this car.

Original owner, mint alpine 318is on cloth.
Pretty much the ideal e30. At least for me.
One phone call and $250 deposit later, I was tentatively able to call it mine :)
I took a red eye flight down to Killeen, Texas and drove it all the way back to the Bay Area
in the span of 36 hours (took a few breaks to retain my sanity).
If it wasn't for the A/C, I'm pretty sure I'd be dead right now somewhere in Tucson.
The owner was a retired navy veteran (named Joerge), living out in a gated community
with a huge 1-story house and 7 acres of land and his very loving wife who actually
drove the car for a majority of it's life while Joerge was on duty.
Said he used to live in CA a couple years ago, but was sick of the rat-race culture we live in out here.
I have to agree. Made me a bit jealous of his retirement gig out there.
Got to spend time with family in LA on the way back so that was nice too!
I'm also pretty sure I was starting to hallucinate for the last 2 hour stretch of the trip.
Driving 24 hours alone really started to get to my head.

So now, I have two e30's that I'll be keeping in my stable for hopefully a really long time.
Figured I'd like to swoop these cars asap before the market becomes unrealistic.
I aspire to be one of those guys with oem+ looking bmws that are really clean.
I don't have much money being a "broke college student", but hopefully when I graduate,
I can tend care to these cars the way they deserve and hopefully appreciate over time.
Especially with the way the market's trending now.

Anyways, enough with the cool story brah.
Here's some shit photos from my professional canon ass ;)
    Enjoy.

    Cheers,
    Ami

I love driving my Brother's '92 318 vert. It is great on the highway and zippy around town. It is 100% a perfect daily. Will be better with the new m20, but for now it is fun and nice.

There's something about alpine that's really refreshing.
Maybe it's the super low maintenance aspect or the absence of a failing clear coat. It's just one less thing to worry about on a >20 yr old car.
