Does it make the noise when the car is in neutral? What about in gear, also if you push in the clutch does it make the noise still?

The noise happens at all times. When in neutral i can hear it the most since i can stand outside of the car. Noise continues regardless of clutch being pressed or not. Also noticed lately that the car will feel really good pulling in first and then at other times it will feel like it is slipping. I have yet to replace the clutch but i also do hear the TO bearing whining when i let my foot off the clutch. Plans are to get a new clutch kit eventually and resurface the flywheel unless there is a better flywheel i can get that will mate up with the M50 swap. Im still looking around. Im gonna replace the belts and tensioner pulleys and see if that helps. Could just be noise that is echoing thru the chassis.Comment

Thanks!! Im trying my best to restore the car and not break the bank lol. Eventually its gonna need some frame work and a new spray with some dent fixes lol. Was thinking of putting a M-tech body kit on it but i really like the stock front end and the euro moldings.Comment

My car does that. It's noisy when I'm in neutral off the clutch, but when I have the clutch pushed in, the noise goes away, any idea what would be while we're on the topic? :D
But I love your car OP, shows me what my alpine sedan will look like soon. I have GC coils with Eibachs and Konis waiting to go on myself'84 Alpine 325e (Gone)

Right on!! That setup is really good. I really like how its not all rough when just cruising around and it handles like its on rails around corners. My car does that. It is probably your throwout bearing. It's a common symptom when they start having issues. Depending on your trans however E30's have a problem called "Getrag rattle". Do a little research on it to narrow down the issue. Good luck!My car does that. Even ZFs can rattle, often nothing to worry about. Throwout bearing usually rattles with the clutch pressed when bad.E30 325ix M50 turbo 7 spd DCT 4wd 840awhp @ 31 psi.
