    full spectrum panorama

some may remember when i posted the shot of my car with the rainbow. well, that wasnt the only one i took that day.
heres a panaroma i put together from 3 separate shots. it took awhile to get them to all blend together, and its still not perfect.
(of course there had to be a ton of power lines in the shot)
best if viewed by resolution over 1200px wide.

    enjoy

You did an excellent job stitching the 3 shots together, but overall its just a bleh photo. There are tons of distracting elements and it doesn't look much more than a center-weighted snapshot.

well now, he couldn't have just asked the rainbow to move over to a better spot..lol

i think the point was to just capture the rainbow in its entirety.

Keep looking at the picture and look where your eyes are led. My eyes are always led away from the car, which is the subject of the photo. The car is randomly parked in a parking lot in the middle of the frame, with other cars, power lines, and buildings that are very distracting.

I think its a cool shot and its exposed nicely, but its really nothing more than a snapshot. If it were a shot made to show off the rainbow he shouldn't have cropped the top of it off, and he should have bumped up the contrast a lot so that the rainbow actually stands out.

Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Puts the E30 into prospective (i.e. not on a pedestal) as just another mundane 20 year old german car ..... which it is.

yes it was a snapshot. i was driving and was like 'cool a full rainbow over the highway' unfortunately to get the full height would have taken 6, or possibly 9 frames. i attempted to get it without the city crap but by the time i got through the town, the rainbow was way too close to get the whole thing anymore, and it was fading. o well.

i think my canon digicamera has a feature that auto stitches a landscape together, dunno never used that feature, now I wanna try.

that would be pretty cool, id want to see that work since there are usually pretty big changes in perspective. as you spin a camera around.

To get the best results you'd want to use a camera that has a full manual mode so your settings are all exactly the same from each shot. Then it will be easier to make the sky blend and stuff.

so i busted out the digicam (canon s400 digi elph). There's a setting on the function wheel for the panoramic. I take one picture, and it shows me half of my last shot, with the preview next to it so I can line it up. When I download to my computer though they come out as separate pics. I imagine if I used the canon photo software it would auto stitch together, but I just use MS picture and camera wizard in XP. One day I'll figure it out.
