Wow, thanks for so much positive comments!

The 324td is quite rare indeed. I even think it's one of the last ones in Belgium. And with only 155k kms I'm the fourth owner. I even have the original invoice from '90.

It is rather slow yeah, but has a lot of torque and potential for engine mods. I've seen them doing 150KW and 500Nm, but the heads are known to develop cracks so I'm keeping mine close to stock seeing that it's a daily driver.

That button is to activate or deactivate the power windows. It's almost impossible to source one with the logo still present and in my eyes together with the almost perfect interior an indicator that the mileage is correct. In my previous e30 I also had a button to deactivate the buttons on the rear door, sort of child proofing it.

              What is a billet crank?

In '84-'85 Lincoln produced about 3,500 mark vIII TDI versions using the BMW 2.4L turbo diesel inline 6. The crankshaft was billet aluminum for strength and could be used as an upgrade to m20b20 guys. Very cool engine, hard to find but, not impossible.

Aah yes indeed, the crank is also often used for 2.7 and turbo conversions :)

The E30 324d/td isn't a popular E30 here, but the number of official approved E30 Diesels is lower than E30 M3's. The 324d/td crank shaft is forged steel not like the casted 325e crank shaft.

Its forged steel, not billet aluminum. Lol.

                      Its also heavy as hell.

Kind of a dumb question, but are these engines m20 that are converted to be diesel, or just a completely different designed motor?
