    ItsOnlySmellz' White 1991 BMW 318is

    Hi All,

I finally got my E30 after many years of waiting!

I was pretty lucky to find a very clean body E30 in NYC. The PO used to drive it to work to Long Island from Queens. He did not know what an E30 was and was pretty surprised that he had many people contact him offerring a lot more than the asking price. It was a deal I couldn't refuse and now I have some extra cash to start working on it.

    Details:

    Year: 1991
    Model: 318is
Miles: 248K (high but I do not care)

Will register the car soon. For now, those are some old borrowed FL plates.

    Side looks pretty clean:

Sames goes for under the battery tray:

I will take better pictures when I take the car to the garage at my gf's place.

From the CarFax report, the car was first bought in Florida and then arrived to NYC back in 2002. From the looks of it, I would say I am now the 4th owner of the car.

Exterior: The most important thing for me was rust/rot. The battery tray is pretty clean and the "side skirt" area looks good too. The front and rear bumper covers are cracked, along with their trimmings. I will be replacing those first and then send it to a body shop to get the entire car repainted Alpine White and looking neat.

Interior: The interior is probably a 4.5/10. I didn't really care about the interior. I've helped a friend of mine a few years back replace his E30's interior and it just took us a weekend to get it done. I am planning on switching the Tan interior to either the cloth material or black leather. We will see when that time arrives.

    Plans by order:

    1) Get the exterior all cleaned up, painted, smooth, and tight. If any of you know of any great AutoBody shops in the Tri-State area that have worked on your E30s before, I would greatly appreciate it if you can refer me to one.

    2) After the exterior is all nice and neat, I will work on the interior by replacing the leather, carpet, dashboard, etc.

    3) Suspension

    4) Engine

It is going to be a long and fun one, but I think I found the right platform at the right price.

If any of you have any recommendations for anything whatsoever, please let me know through PM or email at geromecab@gmail.com.

    Cheers!

    Stay tuned for future updates.

Great car, right engine in a stock E30. However, I wonder why you don't plan to do the mechanical components first and then do the cosmetics. It just seems to me that people who start with the cosmetics often don't find the money or time to get to the running gear of the car.

        In any event, nice find!

Thanks! I did consider the mechanical/performance first, but I think having the body all prepped will give me a lot more motivation. Maybe I will change my mind when I officially begin. But for now, cosmetic is first for me.

According to that last pic it looks like you got Bilstein shocks on there, they may not need replacing...just some nice springs to complement them :)

Thanks everyone for the comments. I love the alpine white color and the car. Its a great candidate for my future plans.

I just spent these past few days cleaning out the garage to put some space for the car and tools.

At this moment, I am shopping around for some front and rear bumper covers. Then, I can take it to the body shop to get it worked on.

I came across some bumper covers by company EZ. Just curious, has anyone had any experience with these?

In response to my username...its one of those unforgettable video experiences.

Hopefully, I can meet some of you locals in the near future.

LOL I was wondering this. I figured it was from the video. I love how she fucking took it like a whore and happily ate her own shit.
