    Gem: The 63k mile '93 Cabrio (325iC)

A little story about this car: I came home last friday (2/21) and wanted to skim the typical E30's on craigslist to see if there are any deals that I could snag, I came across this gem on craigslist from some mid-aged gentleman up in Novato, CA. It was their 4th car and her daughters are in college so they really don't have any use for this E30, so it was time to thin out the herd. I think it was a pure coincidence when I saw this listing in within the first 9 minutes that it was posted because I typically never look past '91 models on craigslist because its really rare to see them at this time and age.

So, I had to call and hoped that I would be the first inquiree in line. Half hour passed, I assumed and I shrugged and said to my girl "It's probably getting checked out right now and about to be sold, meh, next time". Just in about that instant, I get a phone call from the seller, Jamie, and he was really surprised and he said "I just posted my car not even 5 minutes ago and I heard you leave a voicemail". I was pretty surprised that it was still available because the other craigslist vultures could have called before me.

Jamie and I talked for a little while about the car and I mentioned that I'm an enthusiast and I was looking for a new project since I miss my old calypso cabrio (Steven has it now and here's his progress on it:http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=303942)

Basically, after I said that I'm very interested on buying the car, he had shown it to many potential buyers all over California and saved it for me to pick it up today. I really don't like elaborating on stories but this car drives like a dream. Drives like it just rolled out from Stevens Creek BMW (The car was purchased here in the bay area)

Here are some initial pictures, (it's been raining and cold here and I could only snag a few strobing shots) Enjoy:

    Here's another one:

I'm going to get a full diagnostic and fix the issues, more pictures to come as I progress. It's late and I'm tired.

    Thanks for looking!

It's a 5 speed! I never had an automatic E30. It needs a bit of help in some areas like: the dash, rear backseat, and some mechanical bugs. Here's a few pictures that I was able to take yesterday and today.

I installed the euro grills today:

The shifter boot is still smooth:

I'm in the fence if I want to lower her or keep her as is:

The title isn't legit if I didn't show the gauge cluster:

more to come as I progress.

      Thanks for looking!
