So this is how today started


PO tightened down the nut halfway before realizing it was the wrong thread pitch. When I tried to un-tighten it *snap*
I guess solid mounts it is
also snapped a few pics before it decided to down pour for 5 minutes. Damn this bipolar florida weather :hitler:

OBD2 mid pipe with my handy dandy auto zone exhaust hanger kit. Way to low, can't wait to get it in the exhaust shop.

I have a bad habit of lurking craigslist and buying things I don't need. So while waiting for my muffler to show up I found these

He had all 4 feet, 3 keys, and two 59" bars for a steal. Id be stupid to say no. But considering I have a 4 door I don't really neeeeeeed a roof rack. But what the hell.
I've always been a fan of the wooden roof rack look so I decided to give it a shot.

yes i know they aren't even, and yes some are upside down. I was rushing to get to a good stoping point today
still need to shorten the rear support bar to fix the bowing and get a few more pieces of wood to replace the ones that i destroyed in the process and finish staining/sanding.
Its about 75% done but I'm already happy with the progress.

Im not sure what I'm going to do yet. I got 2 sets of diving boards with the car so I'm going to run then for now, possibly tuck them
I'd really like to get my hands on a late model rear valance. Im tired of looking at the ugly spare tire prego bump.

Thought something smelled funny...


When I bought the car the PO had spliced the fuel pump into the harness under the rear seat. It didn't work. I gave up on trying to figure out what the hell he was doing so I rigged the pump up to a toggle switch.
Yesterday when installing my passenger seat i started to notice white smoke coming from under the carpet closest to the center console
then more white smoke, and more, and more, until finally my car was just filled in a matter of seconds. I went into full panic mode and grabbed the extinguisher as fast as I could. Before I let it loose I ran to the trunk and noticed the power wire for the switch was on fire. Out of sheer adrenaline I grabbed the wire (big mistake) and ripped it out as fast as I could. Crisis adverted

It looks like when I tightened the nut ontop of the stud for the seat, it pulled the wire into the threads and split them
Not only did my trunk burn but so did the bottom of my rear seat, most of the carpet on the passenger side, and one left hand.

Its all fixed now but man what an exciting day...

It was rigged up to just test the pump when I 1st got it and then just became one of those "I'll get around to it" type things. I had to learn the hard way unfortunately
