      Making progress:

      Up she goes

Its a gross mess under the center console. Going to have to shampoo and vacuum before it goes back together.

      No more PRiNDaL lever.

And the now with the proper number of pedals.

Everything out but the transmission itself.

There are only 4 bolts left holding it in, but it was starting to look like rain, so I packed it up for the day.

          The scrap pile.

I'm going to pick up the transmission tomorrow. Fortunately, there is a whole lot fewer parts to go back in with a manual transmission, and I have the luxury of rebuilding the shift linkage with the transmission out of the car, saving me from dealing with the bitch clip. The only hurdle left is going to be lining up the transmission to the block. I'll definitely bring in a helper for that.

No snow. It's actually been fairly nice recently. A few cold and rainy days here and there, but not so bad. It's been at LEAST 3 days since it snowed!

I am having a hard time finding any actual proof of what throw-out bearing I need to use to match the late eta transmission to an i flywheel. I have a separate thread in the transmission section, where I am offering to paypal someone $5 to post a picture of a measurement of the bell-housing depth so there is proof of the difference between the late eta and i transmissions.

I'm stuck twiddling my thumbs, waiting for a part to arrive.

I ordered the 323 throw out bearing to match my deep eta bellhousing to an I flywheel, but it's backordered through bavauto. Should arrive sometime next week.

In the meantime, I doesn't some time organizing the garage a little bit, as it has gotten a bit out of hand over the winter. I also swapped in a new old school radio. This thing is a mid 70's integrated unit that is just massive.

I also degreased the transmission, and replaced all the bushings, seals, wear items, and slave cylinder to get it ready to install.

And lastly, relaxed the CSB on the driveshaft. I pulled this thing out of a parts car years ago and forgot I had it. Hopefully the u joints are in good shape. The old CSB was still intact, but I decided to replace it since it was already out and apart.

Now I'm just waiting for the throw out bearing to show up so I can put it all together.

First auto cross of the season is in two weeks, and I might try to take this and run stock class. Otherwise I'll be going in the miata.

Very cool, look forward to seeing another e30 around town. A good friend of mine just bought a white late model sedan w early model front valance a few months ago.

I'd like to some day sell my car and get another e30

Who swaps an early valance onto a late model? I thought everyone went the other way!

What is involved with replacing transmission bushings, seals and wear items? Did it require disassembly? Something a novice could do? More importantly, what of this stuff can be done without having to remove the trans?

My trans is leaking (I think from the rear seal) so I wanted to do this and the shift linkage at the same time.

                                Keep up the good work
