My first LHD E30 - Warning - Bone stock content....

I drool after a lot of the cars on here, and have been lurking for some time waiting to find the 'right' car for me. I was specifically looking for a late model 318is preferably, or a 325is if the right one came along. Having owned a 320i (not the italian M3) and an '89 M3 when I was still living in the UK, I know the cars fairly well and it was my impressions from those two cars that led me to be more inclined toward owning the 318is. Fact is, I'm too old to be speeding on the streets, and I get my kicks racing a 94 325is and a 92 Ford Escort GT in the 24 hours of LeMons and Chumpcar world series. I just wanted something that looked nice and was fun, and that was still close to being stock..

So the car below I have owned now for all of a week and other than the 4hr drive from picking it up in SC, I haven't been able to really drive it since both front shocks are blown and the rears are well on their way. With around 200K (broken ODO, which I will fix..), I am guessing they are still original and leave the car currently looking more like a 4x4.
For now, so I can get on the road, I have ordered a set of KYB's and Vogtland springs along with all new mounting components. Getting back home from picking it up was fun, in a floating, surreal and not all too safe kind of way.

The car is 100% original, paint, all panels, interior, wheels, tool kit etc etc.. There is exactly ZERO rust anywhere (and I mean anywhere), and that was one of the main things I was looking for in any car I purchased, helps that this was a California car all its life in this regard. Only major issue I have to contend with is a ding in the drivers fender (dentless repair should work wonders on it) and a badly cracked dash, but I will find a good one and set aside a weekend or two to finish out the interior. Couple of minor switch issues, drivers side window is intermittent and the mirror switch (or motors) seem kaput are really the only things not working as intended. It is also missing the Headlight splash guards, but it seems that most are, though I will have to pick up a set or it will drive me crazy. Had the original toolkit and all the other things like jack, wheel chock etc. Just need a screwdriver to complete the tool kit I think.

My plans for this one are simple, it will be left very very close to stock with only subtle changes and certainly nothing will be done that couldn't be reverted. I have a set of 15" Euroweaves on their way to me from the UK, and I was able to pick up a set of bolsters and the seat back cover to fix the drivers seat which I may not do straight away, as there are only minor creases in the original Vinyl sport seats. I may add a few other items that were standard on the Euro model for the 318is like a rear plate filler, smileys and the better OBC. Regrettably, while an LSD was high on the list of items I wanted, this one doesn't have it. Feel free to PM me if your selling a 4.10 (or close to that) small case LSD :)

This one will essentially be preserved and restored and at most, driven spirtedly..

Car in the background is my DD, a '13 Focus ST which is a fantastic fun car..

Thanks guys, I know there is less love round here generally for stock cars, but I think this one will turn out nicely with some modest tweaks.

I am a big fan of the M42 engine, its not the quickest, and not easy to mod for power, but it is willing, and tough as nails...

More pics once I get a chance to clean it up. Really need a good reasonably priced dash at this point though, the cracks will drive me nuts....
