    E30 Time

    First off, howdy

Have lurked here on and off. I use to be fairly active on vortex and what not. Im versed in old crusty VWs. I sold my mk6 TDI golf to cut all bills. I was sad to let it go as it was my first new car purchase and exactly what I wanted from a car.

    Current stable:

    1987 -e30 325e with a 2.5L swap
    1989 VW golf Callaway Turbo
    1984 VW Rabbit 16v swap
    1964 Porsche 356 type C project.
    2013 Honduh Ruckus

On to now. I found a hilarious ad on the local CL. A more or less straight non rusty e30. Gold. The DRIVE segment with the red e30 made me pull the trigger. Car was on cut springs with some fugly painted 17" enkeis. The PO cu the exhaust off at headers and ran with the motto, because racecar for everything.

I am fixing most the silly hacks. I hope to get it back to a solid drivers car. Car had a cheap single stage respray. Ill work with it and get it decent. Paint is shiny but very hard and cracked/spidered

    The day I got it:

After replacing a few parts like a switch for the fuel relay and fuses, wheels and a bath:

          Hey! He called it!

They are Sebrings. 15x6.5 et35? 10mm spacers in rear to use the PO's extended wheel bolts. I havent put the center caps on. I applied for antique tags but was rejected based on the first pictures. They said "the paint is peeling" but I think the DMV hated the wheels.

I re blacked the front bumper with some SEM trim black. Should have my plate tomorrow.

I have some cool wheels in the attic that I need the correct tire size.

          Settled on a 215/45r16 Potenza. wheels are 16x7.5 and 16x9 et25

I also have asked 2 sellers here about getting a MTech 1 steering wheel. Still waiting.

Black out the rear bumper or sand down the front bumper and put a lip on the front, and it will look pretty clean. Good luck saving that car...

              You're doing God's work.

Thats the plan. I like the polished accents. First order was getting the car road worthy, new brakes all around, and buying all the parts for a stainless exhaust.

Which lower front valence do I need? I realize the 325e came with "diving board" bumpers. I am not sure of the part. I think they are about $110 new if I found the correct one.

You have a couple options. The best looking (in my opinion) is an es/is air dam:

It bolts on over the existing metal valance.

The other option is the basic plastic lip:

They look like recaro bolsters but I dont think they are. They have been recovered at some point and I can't find and Recaro markings. They need some love. The metal is rusted.I will take close up pics later.

                            As for those switches....

One at stick is the starter.... PO just wired it direct...
switch 2 on the ebrake is fro brake lights...

I keep finding fun things, like wiring mess when I opened the glove box. Sometimes I like a challenge.

Only reason I say they are is my euro spec with recaros has the same seats.
