While S50 cars are a blast, the S14 in an M3 is a great package, glad you know what that feels like now.

Of course as soon as I load up the 40D and go outside to take some proper, non Instagram pictures, it starts raining.

This car belonged to a family friend, who passed away at a fairly young age. He was the second owner and bought it from Stan Bennett in Portland in 1994, after totaling his 1989 325i sedan. He promptly had a car phone, an aftermarket stereo w/ subwoofer, and a short shifter installed, but left everything else stock. He drove it fairly regularly (and even daily drove it in San Francisco for a while) until about ten years ago, when his health started declining. His mother took over caring for the car at that time. Anything the car needed, they sent to Rasmussen and had it done.

Anyway, the owner passed away a few weeks ago. A mutual contact phoned me and because he knew I "liked old BMWs" and offered me the car. It took a few weeks, but I finally got to see it, made an offer, and drove it home a few nights ago.

I like having cars with a story.

Exactly. It's funny how much hate the S14 gets sometimes from non-M e30 owners. Just keep blowing past them at 8000 rpm!!

Congrats Austin. I have never been a big fan of the Oregon Trail plates though and your car solidifies my thinking that. Cheap and easy fix though.

It's just strange. I have the urge to modify or otherwise fucking destroy every other car I've owned. Not this one. It's so much fun as is.

Yes, Mac, the plates are absolutely hideous. Hopefully will fix that before picnic.
