Thanks guys, camera is a Canon 10D. Lens in the wide shots are a tokina 12-24/F4, third shot had a polarizer on it that's why you can see through the windshields. The last two shots were with a canon 85/1.8 lens.

The 85mm f/1.8 is on my "to buy" list. Great pics again man.

Thanks TJ. You'll love the 85mm 1.8, I use it more than my 70-200/f4. The tokina belongs to a buddy of mine, I don't have a super wide but have a 17-40 instead. The tokina is nice but is way to slow for action shots, doesn't focus fast enough. My two most used lenses are the 17-40 and 85mm, the 50mm and 70-200 more than 75% of the time do not get used.

The 85 has to be the fastest lens I've used and is extremely sharp.

Which 50mm do you have, the 1.8 or the 1.4?

I've got a Peleng 8mm circ. fisheye, Sigma EX 18-50 f/2.8 and Tokina 80-200 f/2.8. I'd say I use them all about equally. Probably the 80-200 less but its gets a lot of use. I need some fast primes (30mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.8) but those will come down the road. Still want to get a 580EX and a new tripod soon.

I've heard good things about the Tokina, but it seems hard to produce fast ultra wide angles. Even the Sigma 8mm fisheye is only f/4.

Since the wide angles are so wide, I don't see a point in making them any faster in terms of aperture, but focusing speed is different. They let in a lot of light already for how wide they are.

I have the 50mm 1.8, don't really see a need for the 1.4. I always have a tough time deciding between car related stuff and camera equipment, I usually end up going for the camera stuff, lol.

The 580ex is a nice flash, though I don't do much flash photography. I see you recently joined on FM as well :). It's a great site.

I think there are too many gear snobs on FM, I've been spending my time on POTN. www.photography-on-the.net Check it out if you haven't before.

I've been considering the debate between the 50 1.8 and 1.4 and I don't really see the need for the 1.4 either. Its only 2/3 stops faster and almost 4x the price. I don't even think I would use the 1.8 that often but it will be nice for pinch situations. I don't care that much about build quality either.

I'm pretty cold on the car scene... I've dumped too much money into my car so I just dumped $2,000 into camera gear instead :)

You know the nice thing with camera gear though, is if you buy used, you're pretty much guaranteed to get like 90% of what you put into it back, $ wise. The only thing you lose out in is the camera body. I was stupid the first time and bought my 10D new, never going to by a body new again, lol. All my lenses are used.

I bought my 350D new just because I'm scared of used electronics. Used lenses are fine but I wanted a fresh body with no clicks on the shutter.
