    My 1988 Super E

I bought a 1988 Super E as a parts car for my old 91 daily. The 88 was advertised as having a "blown motor" but came with a whole host of aftermarket goodies. I was going to strip the 88 and swap all the parts onto my 91. After a bit of tinkering the 88 purred like a kitten and there wasn't a thing wrong with it! Since it already had all the goodies, I decided to keep it and sell my 91.

    The goodies:
    IE Stage III springs
    Bilstein Sports
    21mm front Sway Bar
    16mm H&R 3 way adjustable sway bar
    Urethane bushings
    M3 Offset control arm bushings
    Solid Diff bushing
    4.10 LSD
    Chipped
    Ireland fixed camber plates
    e36 steering rack
    ....

The day I picked her up

I'm not a big fan of the tan and since the door cards are kind of ragged anyway I figured why not dye them? Turned out rather well. Can only has enough in it to do 1 3/4. So I'll have to pick up a few more cans tomorrow.

I have done a bit more work on the car since I first brought her home from Cincinnati in 2014.

Test fit some TR Motorsport wheels. Looks good but not quite what I'm going for.

The car was/is amazingly clean and was supposedly built in Las Vegas. No rust and only minor door dings. The worse part of the body was the passenger rear quarter. The previous owner thought he would try his hand at drifting and smashed into a light pole. I started fixing the dents and have been prepping for paint job.

You can just barely see the rear quarter damage in the pic below. I'm waiting until I can meet with a buddy to use a stud gun and pull the dent out before skim coating with filler.

The Ireland Stage III springs were nice but I didn't like the amount of body roll associated with them. Since they were the stiffest OEM fitment spring on the market, I had no choice but to go coil over.....

        OOOOOOOOOOO..........YEAAAAAAA.....

Long story short, I accidentally ordered some rims which should be here Friday. We'll see how they fit.

I did some searching to get an idea of what to expect when my wheels get here. In my search for information I came across two helpful websites.
I should add that I have converted from lug bolts to lug studs with traditional conical nuts. (Thank you Motorsports Hardware)

          Are hub centric rings needed?

Will my ridiculously larger rims fit with my stupid stretched tire? (not really, but just in case one was curious)

15x9 et 15. I needed a 5mm spacer in the front to clear the struts. Currently running a 225/45 BFG Rival. I still need to do a little more work dropping the car down. I rolled the rear fenders and rolled and pulled the front.

            Test fit

Hits the front strut - used 5mm spacer (could have used 3mm but wanted extra room for rim saver on the tires)

For shnitzngiggles I weighed the wheels and tires.

The rims weighed 17lbs for a 15x9 and 225/45/15 BFG Rivals weighed 20lbs each.

GC coil overs with Koni Yellow SAs -

The IE setup was too soft for my liking and the body roll made the car difficult to throw into quick turns.
