This is the story of “landshark” my e30 convertible. I’m not very old, but the story begins a long time ago:

Funny enough no matter how hard I want to I have a memory of this toy, I do not. I also wish I still had it (the toy), for reasons that will become painfully apparent in the next image.
But first, a quick back story-> until I fell in love with the e46 M3 I was a rational person… then I bought an e46 M3 about 6yrs ago. I was instantly infected with the Bavarian plague and decided I would also one day own an e30.
In March of 2013 I decided to end my suffering (or start?) and purchased this:

As an e46 owner, and Bavarian zombie I was not stranger to “ mor low bro” and modifications so I quickly got going…

Well the plan all along was to swap it with an s52. So much so in fact I actually owned the s52 before the car. I had planned to do all the work myself… but quickly learned that it was going to be rather difficult given my work + CFA studying…

Anyhow, the engine had ~190k miles on it, so we tore it down and refreshed it:

Quick plug: all the work was done by JG technik and the final product is absolutely outstanding. I could not be happier with the workmanship, prices, or communication (before, during and after the build). ...when I say “we” did this and "we did that" I really mean "they"… I just agreed to their recommendations and paid the bill…
Next came parts. We did an OBDII swap with an M50 manifold, ebay headers, and built the 2.5” exhaust into a vibrant muffler with two resonators. Oh, also full AC to stay cool and cool 8).

Next, I dropped the car off to get the swap done.

Then like magic this happened:
Then this
Then this
Then BOOM… it was done

I didn’t like the rims tho… so I used a bent rim as an excuse to get my favorite rims (cheap, meaty, and aggressive!)

Then I got it home and got the hardtop off

I’ve just been enjoying it this summer. I use it mostly as a daily, unless I’m in the mood to rag on the M3… or staying in the city and need the jeep

I guess the next steps will be to repair the slight rust, and see what I can do about a paint correction… I was going to do the suspension, however I’m actually pretty happy with how it is now… after all this isn’t my corner carver
Oh and the name landshark… growing up my first sail boat was named sea cheetah… so I just kind of reversed that. Plus landshark is my favorite beer in the summer… and this is my favorite car in the summer.
two more i have:
