Pay it forward, do the right thing. I'm sure you'll make his day

I would agree with this, $1000 to a high school kid would make his month. It would be the right thing to do. OP should, but that's his decision

Not to be a dick but he was about 17 years old i think. I talked with him for a bit and you could just tell he didn't know anything about working on cars nor did he have the skills nor resources to undertake a restoration project as in depth as this.

I once bought a car (not an E30) with a "bit of rust" In fact, the reason I bought the car was because it had so little rust (and it was cheap - $500). After digging into it, I found that it has A LOT of rust. I'm really wary buying any older car on the east coast, now. Got pretty lucky with my E30 though. No rust whatsoever.

M20 swap OP. There cheap and might even be the first guy to put one of those into a m3! Seriously though, I'd wait out for a s14.

Seen my build thread Yea that was supposed to just be a bit of rust.... Over all though if it does have just a little 15k is to bad i guess depends on the mileage and condition

*freshm3 you should creat another thread so the OP's thread does not get derailed.

Keep at it OP now we should resume with regularly scheduled programming.

Greg is correct. My 1990 m3 I bought brand new was brilliant red.
