    i have a feeeling i'm going to get shot at pretty soon because i'm going to be tresspassing in everyones back yard or private property trying to find an m3...

    I thought i had a similar story to yours, a family friend saw my e30 and said 'hey i have one of thouse in my back yard that i use to use for parts, its an m3', he said and if i wanted i can come take it...holding back my excitement i said hell yea...get there and its a 86 es with an m3 badge....i wanted to choke the shyt out him but it wasn't his fault he wasn't a big car guy but i was crushed...lol

    I hate the fact that you were THE lucky one to get away with an M3 that cost you 2500, but I love the fact that someone is going to put in the well deserved and well needed wrench time to restore it. please keep us posted on progress.

    Never really saw him again.

    Not to be a dick but he was about 17 years old i think. I talked with him for a bit and you could just tell he didn't know anything about working on cars nor did he have the skills nor resources to undertake a restoration project as in depth as this.
