I love tossing the keys to my miata to my most hardcore American car friends and tell them to drive it and have fun. They always come back with the biggest smile. Will they buy one? Probably not but they will always remember having a ton of fun in what they called a chick car.

I do love my Miata's, very fun cars. I'm getting excited for this one, still no word on the transport company though.

Apparently there is a 7 day window for pickup, that started Tuesday. We were confused on that, so any day now they will be there to pick it up and bring it down. I kind of wish I had just made a road trip though, would have been easier. Then again, I don't know that I trust any Miata to make a 300 mile trip with salted roads we currently have, and not turn to a pile of rust by the time I get home.

This shipping company is a joke.

I guess they post the job, and a3rd party picks it up if they feel like it. The shipping company takes $150, and the driver gets $250.

Well, it's been 2 weeks now and no pickup, so they refunded $25 from the deposit, and added $25 to what we pay the driver.

The car is only 3 hours away. I told my Dad we will just load the family up and come get it plus visit for the weekend. He wants to give them a few more days.

I'm getting all antsy! Can't wait to drive it.

It's here! Good thing I learned to be patient. Pops ended up towing it down with his RV and is staying for a few days at the park a mile from here.

Registering it tomorrow, and first project is to mount the new top. Then it gets a bath, and off for inspection. I'll probably move the suspension (if it's not too rusty) over and wheels from the NA.

33k, and looks brand new underneath... Not sure how I feel about using it for a DD.

Picking up a roll bar from Summit Point tonight, got a great price but I have to remove it.

Fender roller also got delivered today!

Going to have some fun this weekend. Moving suspension and wheels over from the black car, roll the fenders, install roll bar, and swap soft top. I'll probably end up painting the mirrors satin black since the clear is completely gone.

Work has begun. Will have to use the top from the black car due to the harness bar. The glass top won't fit with it, but I wasn't about to pass up this roll bar so I'll make due.

Ripped the top out, got everything in position, then it got dark. Will resume on Saturday with the transformation.

Was told not to start until 11am today so I can work late (Federal law limits me to 12 hour shifts).

It's only held in by the seat belt bolts right now. Have to grab some hardware that was missing from the last car.

The bar at least adds 2 man points, right? Can I have my penis back yet?

33,000 miles? Thats awesome, I bought my Z3 with 18,000 miles and it was the best thing I've ever done. It now has 80,000 miles and the only thing I've ever had to do is change the oil and tires (Also a set of pads and rotors :p).

This car doesn't like me.

My hands are fucked! All cut up from the roll bar install, and suspension didn't help.

That said, rear end is finished, bar is in. Tomorrow I get to swap the front struts (kind of a pain on this car), install the top and should be good to go!

Managed to roll the rear fenders without a single crack in the paint. Hope the front goes as well.

One more corner, but here's a teaser.



Ride height is perfect, but I'll need to pick up new suspension sooner than later. Black car has NB stock struts in the rear, which explains why the black car Sat so low on the back.

Front was NA parts, so I couldn't use the adjustable strut and had to cut about 3 inches of coil off the spring so it would fit the bottom seat. (NA springs are flat on the bottom, NB has the usual offset to hold the end of the last coil.)

Ghetto I know, but I wasn't about to put the stock suspension back on after all this. Plus, it's not dumped/slammed/stanced so I still feel good about myself.

I never said the tires weren't stretched though.

Repainted the mirrors after this cruise. The Dog was begging me to give him some 1 on 1 times so I figured a ride in the open air was right up his ally.



I'm done for a bit, will keep a tarp in the trunk in case it rains.
