Wanna see a 318is with an S54 driven balls-out in a time trial?
ComSCC time trial at NHMS south oval. Car belongs to FredK and is a complete monster. Triple the original power, 2600lbs, E30 M3 5 lug, manual brakes and 225/45 RS3s.
Nice driving Nate! Looks like an absolute blast to drive. As a viewer you really have no perception of the speeds you are going, with that camera view, until you get a glimpse of the speedometer.
I got a kick out of the caddy getting squirrely toward the end too.
I just put the M3 5-lug on the 332, and I have to say that I've been surprised by the difference in feel. I had not really expected a meaningful change in feel.
The car pulls hard on the front straight before the NASCAR oval all the way to redline, where an S52 would drop off. Though the speedometer indicates around 139, the car is going 120 according to an AiM Solo. This is because I'm running undersized tires, plus the normal 3-4 mph error of most E30 speedometers.
Wh33lhop brought a GoPro so in reviewing video on Sunday, I learned I was early apexing a lot, and pinching off entering the Bowl (Turn 6). I am already itching to go back there now!
I'm glad Wh33lhop drove my car, as I learned a lot about what the car can do, and how to improve my own lap times.

Now that would be fun. Props to you for having a swapped e30 and actually using it for what it was meant for- laps. Plus the s54 is just mean. Do you have any more info on the swap/build of the car?
