I agree...I think since the car is dark, the db's blend well w/ the dark paint. Anything lighter wouldn't look as good

88+ big bumpers are different, and metal euros aren't a direct fit, correct?

correct the euros aren't a direct fit. I believe the plastics are, just need to change the shock mounts and it fits properly.

I face-lifted my '88 ix. The bumpers fit well, but I also added quite a few new parts to make it look good.
                • New Front/Rear Bumpers
                • Front/rear bumper supports
                • Euro trim
                • Shocks front/rear
                • Turn signal housings
                • Turn signals
                • Harness/wiring for turns

I've heard the DB bumpers on the ix are shorter than those you find on the is, so they don't look too bad to begin with, but I prefer plastics.

                  Audiquattrot's 2nd 325ix build.

I think 1988 for all e30s that has shorter metal bumper shocks

I purchased a used passenger seat from Guten Parts ($125) to replace my drivers side seat which was in rough shape. Unfortunately (for now) I lose the heating element. It was easy to swap the seat belt too.

Tonight I decided to shampoo my carpets too.

                    Old

                    New

                    Side by Side

                    Carpet Before

                    After vacuum

                    After shampoo

                    Finished seats

Pictures were taken with an iphone 4s so excuse the quality.
I do plan on going back and respraying the seat bases and my pedals to make a cleaner look and get rid of all the surface rust.

And thanks to Audiquattrott for the tips Respek!

I like the new title. Get some hog ring pliers and some hog rings and put those heated elements in your new seat. Take you time, it is not hard. As you take your old seat apart to get the heated elements out you will see the difficulty is minimal.

anyone have tips on removing the rust on this exhaust? I believe its' an ebay-like stainless steel exhaust.....that's surprisingly not that old. I've read a mixture of baking soda & lime juice should remove some/most of it. I have a can of NEVRDULL which might work....always worked wonders cleaning my tips (never tried rusty ones though)

do you happen to know if the heating element is just slipped thru in between the stitching (and slides out) or if they are actually stitched into the seat w/ the leather?

Ahhh yes. The iX family grows.

I had a customer tell me he used oven cleaner on his exhaust tips to keep them nice and shiny after some light surface rust started making it's way onto the muffler. Never tried it myself.

Keep it up. Interior is coming along!
