hey isnt the e39 center hubs bigger than all other BMW hubs? i remember reading in Bimmer something about how e39 wheels will ONLY fit e39. if thats the case? then how are these guys swapping out the type 5s onto 6ers and the e30 M3? or are they different? erik i think you know this one?

I think its smaller maybe? You just have to machine it and they work fine. Either that or its bigger and thats easy to overcome.

machine the wheels? uhh.. sounds likea harsh, and if they are bigger, i dont think its a safe bet to just throw them on, I think there is something more to them than that. if the owner of the car would please explain that would be really nice. no harm formula driver

I owned a set of these...thats why Im commenting. If they were smaller you machine the hub area. To big..bam you throw some spacers on.

edit: we'll let him comment and tell you for sure though.

the E39 hub is larger then the standard BMW hub. You can buy hub centric rings or spacers that adapt the larger center bore to the smaller so it will allow E39 wheels to fit other BMWs. You just can't do it the other way around or else you're machinging the wheel.
