30 mins of nervous hammering later and it's much better.

Then started on the surface corrosion, it's moving but slowly.

Finally 2 new tyres arrived, 2 more arriving tomorrow. It now looks like the car will be in the shop for two weeks so I'm going to miss the first East Coast Retro meet on the 1st March, but when people are doing you favours you have to work to their timescale.

Well happy with the new rims, closest I've come to modifying the car!

Finally got all the dust out of the interior and gave the leather a heavy dose of Surf City Garage Voodoo Blend feed, came up lovely.

Then a bit of a photo shoot...

Always one of my favorite colors, looks awesome! Take good care of it, I've heard its incredibly hard to find a e30 in your area with little to no rust.

Ah, rust, the enemy of all English retro car fans. I've been really lucky with this one, the previous owner had the car waxoyl'd underneath and kept it clean and under wax. Even so I'm already looking at next winter's rust killing, there's a couple of spots just starting to show but compared to most UK cars mine is solid.

I do love the colour, it reflects so much light it's always changing. I'm really happy with the car right now. Bit of electrical work ongoing, but it's pretty much ready for the show season. The temptation right now is to use it as my daily, calls me more than my '09 320d cab.

See what I mean about the colour reflecting everything back, how many shades of blue coming through here.

Finally got round to cleaning 27 years worth of crud out of the engine bay. Not bad for an hours work, I've got shiny bits again!

Then got busy with the detailing. Degreased, clayed, few blemishes hand polished out, pre-rinse, shampoo, hand dried and finished off with a thick layer of wax. That's 27 year old factory paint shining like a mirror, very happy with that.
