don't go with a 45 sidewall... it doesn't look right on the M3. I'm running 215 40 17 and the front looks perfect with that setup... i regret not going wider in the rear however, I think a 235 40 17 would look perfect, I'm just not sure if I'll end up with rubbing issues?

That's what I'm running on the rear now and prefer the side wall height over the 215/40's

I had some noise in my LSD, both in my e30 M3 and my e34 M5, while the M3 went away with Castrol and LSD additive the M5 kept making noise in the U turns, changed to Redline stuff and noise went away, now is smooth! Awesome brand and high quality.

Here is a shot of my car so you can get a idea how it waffleswaffleswaffles slook with 235/40 in case you want to try it if you don't mind me:o

Great. A side note (I forgot to tell) I'm running e36 97+ control arms to add more caster and decrease the rub issue in the front against the wheel well of the back when you turn. Some brands are "meatier" and could cause rub problems like some won't. Also, you probably will need to roll up the fenders but that depends on the wheel width and offset.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Just noticed in one of your pics there's a dtm snorkel laying on the pass floor. What's the story with that? Did you get a dtm intake with the car!

It's the fiberglass version of JedM3's intake. My buddy lent the airbox portion to his friend so I'm trying to get it back since he said I could have it. 👍

I got the car on stands, ready for new brakes, fluids, intake and plugs.

Perfect shot to the oil filter!

Good decision on the 235/40. While still a bit tall on the E30 it will look WAY better than a 225/45 will.

^ I agreee with the previous comment. I run 215/40 and 235/40 on 17*8/8.5 APEX's with no rubbing. I still have the OE control arms unlike Diego. For tires I have the Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec's. Only recently has TireRack started to carry the fronts in my 215/40 size.

so my trip to china tomorrow will slow things down to a halt for the next two weeks. I guess it will give time for the next round of parts to come in.

I started the car tonight after changing the motor, trans, diff fluids and spark plugs/air cleaner. Motor didn't sound that good, ran by itself, and I think the motor isn't getting the fuel it needs. I had to tap on the fuel injectors to get a couple of them to unstick. changed the fuel filter (12 gallon of new fuel and injector cleaner in the tank) and the pressure regulator next to the fuel filter started to leak. Shut it off after a couple minutes and will see how the next round of parts addresses everything. I forgot to mention, I am going to buy refurbished injectors from MEPEH while I'm gone, I'm sure they will help.

you can hear in the first vid, the motor sounds like a knock or what I think may be lack of fuel. In the second video the knock is gone. It seemed to come and then go as I tapped the injectors, probably wasn't helping that the undercar pressure regulator was leaking as well.

                            thoughts???

Make sure you take care of that rust spot in the engine bay, and any other spots you can find. Por-15 works well.
