    New E30 Owner

I want to thank everyone in this forum. I have been lurking for months and finding answers to a ton of questions which have helped me in purchasing my first e30, a 1987 Lachssilber cabrio. It came with a locking diff, m sport steering wheel, and cardinal interior from the factory. The interior is now black.

I found the car online in Central FL and had some of my friends from Miami go check it out and complete the transaction after the vin decoder, carfax, and previous owner (before current owner) all checked out. It is being picked up today and delivered on Wednesday or Thursday this week. All of the common rust areas are clean as a whistle and the car has always lived in central FL. It has 141k on it with no known accidents.

I already know it needs pass side mirror glass, driver door panel, and the tiny square cover on the front plastic bumper trim. It looks a bit damp around the rear diff. so I may end up shelling out some cash for that refresh if a fluid change doesn't do the trick. Otherwise it is very clean.

My mods list is already too big but priority is going to be mechanical first, then refresh factory parts to showroom. I am OCD so things like zip ties do not fly if I can spend a few bucks to get factory clips. Details matter to me.

Once the car has received it's full run down, I am looking at the following:
Plastic rear bumper (will need a rear apron too) and paint.
Euro grills, Euro bumper trim (front and rear), smoked front lenses.
Undecided on the tail lights but I am not a fan of yellow so something will be done.
    Suspension
Wheels at some point but, I may hop on the alpina replica group buy.
Some kind of speaker/head unit work depending on what is in there now.

I will try to get some pictures up this week. Excited for it's arrival and the fun of working on it. All I need now is for this damn snow to melt.

Pics can be deceiving! It is a little roughy around the edges but all will be fixed with time. This weekend:
I got a new battery and redid the ground and positive terminal connectors.
Painted the battery tray, no rust but paint was chipping.
Put all new front clips on the lower valence lip (those little pins are a pain in the ass).
Pulled out the crumbling intake boot that was repaired by the prev owner with duct tape.
Came up with a list of needs:
        exhaust rubber hangers
        Trunk plastic guard trim clips
1 Clip for small metal trim on vert lid
Covers for vert lid where it meets seat belt
        Cap for washer fluid
        Lines for washer fluid
        Drivers Door panel black
        Seatbelt buckles (new)
        Vert lid handle behind driver
        Panel under drivers side dash
Back half of center console black
        Exterior glass trim (bottom)
        Drivers door lock mechanism
        Passenger side mirror glass
        Black Sun visors
Hood trunk and vert lid struts
Bolts that hold rear seat back in place

Well it needs a good amount of mechanical work... New rear shocks, rear sub-frame bushings, IX brake booster, tie rod ends, possibly a right control arm, and most likely a steering rack. Anyone want to buy a 1987 e30 vert? :)

I have picked up a new crack free dash, plastic rear bumper with shocks. Those I will wait to install for now.

I am doing a lot of odd ball stuff now. Going to polish my cluster glass tonight. I re-adjusted the vert lid lock cables and lubbed them up so they work well again. little odds and ends until I can start finding the parts I need.
