Great car. It looks fantastic, it actually sees track time, and you enjoy it.

I don't really understand why anybody is complaining about your e-brake setup. It's not a rice mod, it's a for fun (and possibly purpose) mod.

It has it's own separate master cylinder. The bias allows me to play with the amount of braking power that goes to either front or rear brakes. On very fast tracks (like Watkins Glen) I like more front braking power, on slow tracks (like Pocono) I preffer more rear bias. And with the insane motor power that I now have I do want to try some drifting just for the kicks

I think you are a little confused, brake bias control works just like it should independent of the hand brake, it just comes together as one unit, look at this pic and tell me if that makes sense ...

just to clarify it further:

The fluid goes from the MC (in the engine bay) to:
1) the front brakes and,
2) to the bias valve (on the handbrake in this case),
-then into the MC for the handbrake,
-out the other end and into the rear lines.

hey, Would kill for that car, and I understand and appreciate the purpose of the bias valve. pretty girl too, sorry if i dont freik out and ask to see her naked but i come here for cars, the naked girls is a different site. One question, what steering wheel is that?

I don't understand why people like RWH start screaming every time someone does a mod they don't like. The fact is that E30s are NOT purpose built racecars, and never will be, so spending money only on purpose built mods is fine, but not absolutely necessary. If you want a car so built exclusively for speed that it'd be sacrilige to perform any sort of non-speed modifications to it, go buy a lemans GT class car. Since you can only afford an E30, shut up and let people mod how they want.

In any case, the M stripes don't make the car go any faster either, but vlad WANTED them. I think that's great, and they look sweet, too. The point of cars, especially cars like E30s is to make you happy. That is in the eye of the owner, so if the car or mod make the owner happy, then you have no place telling them what to do.

if you had admitted this in the first place this whole 'discussion' couldve been avoided.

im sure chris knows how brake bias works. its just that everytime vlad would try to justify the e-brake upgrade, he would refer to the bias setup. chris was just trying to point out that the two have nothing to do with each other. vlad couldve installed a bias valve w/o 'upgrading' the e-brake.

Brake bias control is slick. Schumi will change brake bias THROUGH a turn before heading into the next turn.

I am fully aware what a bias valve does. Thank you for your thoughtful contribution and insight though. Please return to your geritol and hemroid regimine and go back to bossing the boys around at Sears Autobody.

I guess what it looked like to me was that the brake bias was also directing fluid that is moved by the e-brake handle. This is what led me to question the reasoning behind this. If its independent, then the whole system now makes sense.
