Car was dropped off at the bodywork/paint guy. He should have it repaired nice enough to drive around. I know that paint match will be hard, but I really want to bring the car back to it's original Agave color anyways, so this color may not stay for very long.
The owner of this bodyshop is very very knowledgeable about e30s and most BMWs alike. He has an e30 m3 of his own. I'll divulge more information as the week proceeds.world renown Harry Potter expert

Car is back from the body shop. Overall, I am satisfied with the work performed by them. Certain things I wanted to happen that didn't, but they will all be taken care of if/when the car goes back to Agave Green. One of which, is the seam filling between the new fender and the nose. Not a huge issue if I wasn't planning on repainting the car. Would be an issue if I wanted to leave the car as-is.
But here are some photos. A solid 15' car:
I had them pull the big dent out of the rear quarter panel as well. Nice and smooth. The dents in the rear panel I will take care of myself in the next week.
And the extra set of grilles I had...I guess they were the short-bezel variant. Notice how the headlight buckets stick out past the grill bezels. I need to get the right grills. Also, I thin the center kidney grill is upside down.
Still awaiting the carpet, the interior and the euro turn signals and I can get this bad boy back on the road.world renown Harry Potter expert

So today, I started that project.

Back to the Florida car for a bit.
I changed the valve cover and the alternator. The alternator was making noise, so I took a stock unit from the 73 Polaris car's motor. Should be good now.
I haven't updated on this car in a while because of some unusual developments with the guy who was doing the rust repair. Long story short, there was talk of guns being drawn, a sting operation to get my metal back, and he walked away with $500 of mine. F that guy.
So now I'm taking it to a legit body shop close to home where I can monitor all progress. Should be fun, as progress will continue.
But yeah. Need to start thinking about dual weber DCOEs. I'd like to get my hands on a rebuilt set of italian webers. I already have a 292 cam put aside, a 123 distributor, euro 1600 downpipe, new exhaust system, clutch, and a few other noteworthy parts ready to go in. Should be soon now. This car will live again.
Oh and I've decided that it's getting an entirely new interior as well. Abdu is taking care of that.world renown Harry Potter expert

New home for the 1600 for the next month. Rust repair begins on Monday morning. I'm considering repainting the whole car in single stage Florida Green. You know, just because of how much repair is currently required.
Excited. This thing will be on the road in a month. Then to get the mechanicals in shape. I need to start building up dual webers.world renown Harry Potter expert

Spent a few hours (about 10) working on the paint of the SF car.
Removed all trim, wet-sanded with 1000 grit sandpaper, then 1500, then compound with buffer, then polish, and finally wax. Now I need to get it all back together. I started putting the new carpet in as well. Should be mostly complete by tomorrow afternoon.
