I don't think he works there. He told me insurance paid for it all.

      Either way, MUST BE NICE!

Your car has the 3rd brake light a coupe doesnt. That car is insane man...easily one of the cleanest cabbies ever. I thought you were getting rid of those wheels though. You have plans for something else?

Thanks for all the kind words. At least now you can see that the original guesses about a cleaner look (no 3rd brake light or spoiler) were dead on.

The wheels are the exact same as before, only new - so no more annoying lip bends and curb rash for now. I liked them before and picked up a new set to replace the ones I sold.

Anyway, it is costing me a fair bit of cash on top of what the insurance covered (I don't work at a body shop) but I think the end result will be well worth it... so for now, stay tuned until the next update.

I've now seen two hot black cabrios, and it really makes me want one. Looks real good--looking forward to when it's done.

Super fresh look! Great work on restoring what will shortly qualify for "classic" status. 20 years and older = classic!

I know what you mean about all the subtle imperfections that most people totally miss when driving the car or its parked and seen from about 7-10 feet away. I have got a bunch of those little annoyances on my e30 vert as well.

Gonna do a full ding, chip , and scratch repair towards the end of fall so that I can enjoy my vert for the summer / fall months and have the down time come during the beginning of winter.

Then a full respray in Cirrus Blau.

The real work is in the prep and disassembly so I will do all of that myself by hand.

Solution to those rear ender problems that seem to plague Southern California freeways (i.e. M3Ryan's Mtechnic vert -recently) is to drive a beater on those freeways and only splurge on a vert cruise on fewer days. It will naturally reduce the chances of a rear ender.

Plus now with no 3rd brakelight you are making yourself an easier target! Yes a clean and smooth looking target , but none-the -less still a target.

Oh, FYI. Calif law states that one must have a 3rd brakelight if the car was manufactured with one. Most cops dont know if your year vert came with one or not so that is fortunate for those of us that go with the clean look.

Good luck with such a nice vert! Hope to see you at some So Cal meets in the future.

Just noticed something eerie in that Black paint on the rear and had so share it. Sometimes I hear this happens when going all black.

What? Do you see an image of Jesus? The Virgin Mary? Mother Theresa? Your reflection? What is it? Do tell!

Sebring exhaust. It hangs a bit low at the moment, so I need to adjust it. Sebring was the Austrian predecesor to Remus (apparently, many of the original Remus engineers started at Sebring).

Freaky! I see it too. That trunk did come off a badly wrecked E30. Maybe there is a ghost story involved somewhere...
