Welcome! Your cars color reminds me of my buddy's e21, and yes it's a stock color. He just picked it up last weekend actually and needs lots of love.

Very nice! Color reminds me of the Nissan 350Z. Sweet front too.

thanks for the advice :) i'm pretty religious with my maintenance in any vehicle, and have a nasty habit of only ever buying the best quality parts in any department. anybody that knows me or followed my last build can attest :)

with that said, i definitely plan on keeping her up to date on all her maintenance (i've got records of everything being done, including timing chain, within the past 6k miles, so i'm ok for the time being. except i'll be doing plugs, wires, & oil myself shortly).

i am so excited to learn on this new journey and see where it takes me :D

    Guides as well I'm assuming?

Doesn't the M42 eat guides like the M5x and M6x?

I love the color. it's nice seeing not the same color as repeated over and over by BMW.
But the best advise I can give you is get on the maintenance asap. M42s have a bad habit of crapping out randomly, mainly from neglect but most of this can be cured with a little wrenching.
but here are the rules to live by
1 Never buy ebay or URO parts. you'll end up with a broken car.
2 save the money and buy higher end upgrades, this one i didnt follow and no i'm out over 20k+ in mistakes.
3 change your oil and spark plugs often
4 enjoy the journey, the destination is just a byproduct.

i've got family in kirbyville; the weather down there is a friggen oven haha.

plans for the car? oh yes. haha. a laundry list. refresh the interior to be all black & in great shape. make sure all my suspension bushings are good (hello, polys!), airbags eventually, retrofitted ellipsoids & fog lights, IS side skirts (for the time being), a few other exterior mods, e36 power steering rack upgrade, short shifter.. and THEN i might think about motor swaps.

P.S: A certain few of us R3ver's can get a little out of control, don't get many women around these parts, but we aren't all bad i promise :p
