so last night I had a 2.5 hour adventure to purchase some seats from an E90.. Got there to find they weren't M sport seats like the pictures suggested.. Turned out the picture was for illustration purposes.
Anyway, Seeing I had just driven all that way I thought I would check them out.
They are mechanically sliding and tilting, but elec height and back tilt... I liked the idea of this rather than a full elec seat with memory. They are just as comfortable as my M sport seats and in VGC.. The price was right anyway and he sweetened the deal which turned my 2 seats into
I practically got a whole E90 interior.
I spend a while stripping them down to prepare the wiring harness and suss out the rails. Wont take much to get them to fit.
Also going to massage these to make them look factory.

Well its almost there. I got one seat bolted in and it slides beautifully.
Wiring to the seat is done, just need to make a wiring harness for the car.
The seat uses 5mm wire (25a) for the main power feed. So will require a fused 6mm power feed to a 50a 5 pin relay, using the power windows power feed as my trigger wire for the relay. Just need to pic a suitable place to pick up a 50a battery feed that hidden out of sight.
but for now just coming up with a design to mount he seatbelt sash mount. Got a couple of ideas in the works but ive been on it all day now, so rather hit that with a fresh head tomorrow.
I know these seats will probably be quickly dismissed because they aren't sports seats. But at this point in time its going to shave time off the build and headaches trying to sort out a set worthy of this car. These will go in with not much stuffing about, I won't have to re-trim them, better built, make the E30 feel like a new car to sit in and they're electric.. I see them more like a modern day comfort seats I suppose. Plus they are easy to get out of and you don't drag your ass across a bolster. I had bride low maxx style seats in the car before and I hated them. Too hard to get in and out and you couldn't drive all day in them. I think they will blend in nicely with the perf leather boots, illuminated M gearknob, MT2 wheel and the ringed dash cluster.. Will all go together.Last edited by bangn; 06-12-2016, 01:55 AM.Boris - 89 E30 325i
